# Geometry

## Week at a Glance

This week will be focused on the distance formula and using it to prove when shapes are rectangles, squares, or a rhombus. You will also use slope and graph coordinates to show the shape and identify if it is none of them. You will then use the distance formula to find the perimeter of a triangle.

NO SCHOOL!!!

I would like to thank all of our Presidents! It is because of them that we have today off! :)

## Tuesday, February 17, 2015

Today we will start unit K with the distance formula!

## Wednesday, February 11, 2015

Today we will focus on identifying a rhombus, rectangle, or square (also none of the above) from a set of coordinates that we graph. We will also spend time on GeoGebra graphing these points.

Period 1 and 4 homework: on Canvas
Period 6: Graph , find the distance, slope and identify either: rhombus, rectangle, square, or none of the above for: G(2,5); R(5,8); A(-2,12); D(-5,9)

## Thursday, February 12, 2015

Today's focus it to finish proving squares and rectangles are true to shape by using their slope and its inverse to prove perpendicular lines, which shows 90º angles. More work with hand graphing and using the distance formula.
