Trimester 1 Gallery Walk, we need your help!
Last school year, we moved away from awards ceremonies to allow ALL OF OUR STUDENTS to be honored in their accomplishments and talents! At the end of each trimester, we will hold a "GALLERY WALK." Every student in the school is encouraged to choose one to three things to share with their peers and parents. These "things" should represent something the students have accomplished, participated in or completed that they are PROUD of..........examples include art projects, trophies, ribbons, written stories, assignment, things they have built or created, instruments they can play, and so much more!
All students in the building will have the opportunity to visit each classroom to "See" these great accomplishments of their school mates. Parents and community members will also be able to come after school to visit classrooms and see our student's talents!
Our Trimester 1 Gallery Walk will take place on Wednesday, November 6th. Parents and community members are invited to visit from 3-4 p.m. that afternoon.
We ask you to help your child decide what they would like to share with their peers. Thank you for helping them participate in this chance to share their accomplishments and talents!

Reminders from North Side Office Staff:
Please remember to call the school if your child is going home a different way. Phone calls MUST be made by 1:30 p.m. to ensure the changes can be relayed to your child.
Reminder - If your child rides the bus, you can download "Here Comes the Bus" app to keep track of location and when it will arrive at your child's bus stop.
Bus Change Requests
If you need to change your bus location, please go to the North Side website, https://www.eastnoble.net/o/north-side-elementary, and follow these directions:
Click on the "Menu" at the top of the home page. Click the “For Families” tab and then the "Transportation" tab. When the dropdown menu appears, you will see a link called “Transportation Change Request.” When you click that link, you will be taken to a form that you can fill out and submit electronically. It will notify transportation via email that a request has been submitted and they will begin working on fulfilling the request. Once arrangements have been made and confirmed with drivers, transportation will communicate the arrangements to parents.

STUDENT ATTENDANCE:
Overall, student attendance is improving this school year. THANK YOU for making this a priority! Please remember to call our front office if your child is ill. There are definitely different viruses going around already! Send doctor's notes in with your child when they return to school. Continue to remind your child to wash their hands and keep their hands away from their face and mouth to help avoid germ sharing.
SCHOOL SAFETY:
The month of October was a busy month with safety drills! We conducted our monthly fire drill, participated in a national earthquake drill and conducted a relocation drill. These drills allow students to be prepared in case of an emergency. Students will practice a fire drill, tornado drill and lockdown in the month of November.
Car drop off and pick up line:
Please remember to pull all the way up to the yellow line both in the mornings and afternoons so we can help students to get into the building or vehicles quicker. If possible, please allow your child to exit the car on the right side for safety purposes! If you can, please stay in your vehicle. This allows our line to move smoothly and our students to stay safe, which is our number one priority! We appreciate all of your help with this!

Counseling Corner with Miss Headley:
Feelings. What are they? How do we manage them? Are they good or bad? We have been discussing feelings in our classroom lessons. We have been defining what feelings are, how we can have more than one feeling at a time and what we can do with our feelings. Your student has learned that feelings can be happy, sad, disappointed, excited, surprised, frustrated, anxious, nervous and so many more. We have discussed the different feelings. We also reviewed how to help our friends through their feelings. Your students have discussed how to be a good friend and what to do if we see a friend have difficulty. We will continue to work on discussing your student’s feelings and how they can be a good friend throughout the school year.
Nurses Corner:
The mobile dentist will be at North Side on November 19th. It is not too late to sign up! Forms are available in the clinic or you can register online at www.MyschoolDentist.com.
Please remember that if your child has had a fever above 100 degrees or has been vomiting in the past 24 hours, keep them home. It is our job to work together as a team to keep all students healthy! Illnesses are already running their course, practice hand washing with your children.
