Big picture

Electrical and Construction Students getting the Job Done!!!

Over the past couple of weeks, students in our upper level Electrical and Construction classes have been working hard on authentic work-based activities. Electrical Senior students installed 4 new 120 volt, 20 amp circuits for fish tanks in one of the new Science Labs at the High School. This work required running 4 - 12/2 MC cables 200 feet above the suspended ceiling on the 3rd floor and installing 4 GFCI receptacles at the end of each run.

Additionally, the Construction Program Juniors and Seniors have been out two two different homes delivering and assembling sheds that were built over the past several months in the Construction Lab.

We are very grateful that our students are able to get this extraordinary experience while making a positive impact on the community. And we are very proud of the jobs well done!

Dental Assisting Students help out at Community Event

On the weekend of September 24 and September 25, Mrs. Carreiro, Dental Assisting Instructor and her students students volunteered at the Rhode Island Mission of Mercy, a free dental clinic for community members throughout Rhode Island. This year the free clinic treated 455+ patients with 1,920 free dental procedures. The students registered patients, and worked in the clinic helping patients and assisting other volunteers.
