Happening this week...
The 5th grading period will be ending soon. Be sure to check Skyward for grades and make arrangements for tutoring if needed.
The STEAM Middle School Spring Book Fair is next week! We will be opened everyday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. We will have daily drawings for books and on Friday drawings for all of the display posters. You can also shop online - check out our Book Fair page! Happy reading! #steamreads
Sixth grade is well into the Reading Challenge. Over 15 books have been submitted at this time. Remember the goal is 600! See below for more details.

Mrs. Carroll- Students will use this week to continue and complete their Seismometers for our Architecture/Engineering Design unit. Group presentations will take place the following week.
Ms. Parker & Mrs. Beam - Students will present their final Sphero Maze Design projects and reflect on what they learned in the process. We will also start our next unit focusing on Graphic Design and Marketing.

This week we will take a Mock STAAR test to gauge our progress so far. This data will help us see where students need more assistance at and where students are doing great. We will complete this mock test during class over 3-4 days. Results will come home shortly after the test is completed, so you know where your child is at in regards to the sixth grade material.

Accelerated Math ~ Mrs. Fisher
We made it through STAAR - woohoo! We are expecting to receive results in two or so weeks. This week we will begin Unit 9: Probability and Data. There will be a pre-assessment on Monday. Monday I will be off campus for district training.
Humanities ~ Mrs. Moore, Ms. Lindamood, and Mrs. Strother
- Students will conclude our study of Africa.
- Test on Africa will be Wednesday, April 5.
- We will continue reading A Long Walk to Water and we reinforce reading comprehension skills.
Art ~ Mrs. Beam
We will wrap up our “Pixel Paintings” and write our Artist Statements to reflect on our learning. We will also begin our next unit focusing on Clay/Ceramics and Printmaking.
Beginning Band ~ Mr. Sypert
Students are working towards their Spring Contest and Concert. They should be practicing their parts and their scales daily. Please help encourage them to do so.
