The processor
The three parts
The three parts
The control unit. Sends out signals that fetch instructions from the main memory.
The ALU. its a complex digital circuit, it performs both bitwise and mathematical operations on binary numbers. Its the last component to perform calculations in the processor.
Registers. They are the most important component of CPU. Each register performs a specific function. 1. The memory address register holds the address of memory where the CPU wants to read or write data. 2. Memory buffer register holds the contents of data or instructions read from or writing in memory, contents of instruction placed in this register are transferred to the instruction register while the contents of data are transferred to the accumulator or I/O register.
