Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week Information
Monday, October 23rd kicks off “Red Ribbon Week 2023” and we are excited to encourage healthy decision making for our students.
This email includes the link to a Red Ribbon Week Wakelet. This Wakelet includes daily announcements, discussion questions, videos and activities for you to share with your students during a brain break. All activities and red ribbons have been placed in your mailboxes. On Monday, October 23rd, students will participate in signing T.H.E. Drug-Free pledge wall. There is a scheduled time for each class to arrive and sign. The pledge wall is located on the wall near the ramp headed towards the gym. We ask that students come with a marker to sign their name. It is imperative that each class arrives on time to sign. Each student should receive a red ribbon and sign personal pledges that they are able to keep.
The attached flyer promoting the week was shared with your families. Please share the flyer with your families again and we look forward to your participation. Also, please share photos of your students/team participating in this week’s activities. Mr. Taylor is allowing jeans to all staff members that participate. Please remember that on Wednesday your pjs must be work appropriate and no onesies.
Thank you for supporting our department and what we do for T.H.E. students, staff, and community. 😊

3rd-5th Grade Teachers Only
This week, DCA1 make-up will take place, and constructive response scores should be entered by tomorrow at 2 p.m. On Thursday, Group B (3rd-5th) will meet for LEAP to discuss DCA1 data and action plans. Below, you will find questions to consider in preparation for our meeting:
• What are the grade level Essential Standards for the tested content?
• Of those essential standards tested, what patterns can we identify from the data? Where did our students do well?
• What instructional strategies worked best for the essential standards? What should we retain, refine or replace?
• Based on the questions aligned to essential standards, what misconceptions were revealed?
• Which vertical alignment TEKS needs to be retaught to mastery?
• Which NEW instructional strategies will be attempted for reteach?
• What intervention or enrichment activity will we provide to address the unlearned skills, and how will we check for understanding?
