“Dr. King is widely regarded as America’s pre-eminent advocate of nonviolence and one of the greatest nonviolent leaders in world history“ (About Dr.King).
- He didn't believe in violence.
- He got locked up for standing up for things he believed in.
During the days of boycott MLK was arrested, his home was bombed,and subjected to personal abuse

His Accomplishments
“King called for a boycott of the buses. This boycott lasted longer than a year and the bus companies were ordered to end segregation on their buses. Martin Luther King became famous during this time”(Martin Luther King,Jr).
“His accomplishments are now taught to American children of all races, and his teachings are studied by scholars and students worldwide"(About Dr.King).
- One of his famous speeches is "I have a Dream"
- He won a noble peace prize at the age of 35 in 1964
He was awarded the B.D. in 1951
1951 he began doctoral studies at Boston University’s School of Theology.
He was apart of the group know as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People

His Resiliency

“But King always taught that, even when they were attacked by other people, they should not fight back. He said that would only lead to more trouble and that it would be against the ideals of Christianity”(Martin Luther King, Jr.).
He fought for civil rights for all citizens
