What To Expect When Expecting

Germinal Stage

What is happening to the baby? '

Cells are dividing; egg is implanting into the uterus; and the amnion, placenta, and umbilical cord are forming.

Symptoms of Pregnancy So Far: missed menstrual period

Embryonic Stage

What is happening to the baby?

Internal organs are forming; vertebrae and spinal column are forming; limb buds are appearing; eyes and ears are forming; and heart starts beating.

Symptoms of Pregnancy: morning sickness, more frequent urination, swelling of breasts, and fatigue.

Fetus Stage

What is happening to the baby?

Limbs, hands, feet, fingers, and toes are forming; facial features form; lanugo growing; eyebrows and eyelashes grow; vernix covers body; baby grows rapidly during end of pregnancy.

Symptoms of Pregnancy: continued size change; discomforts of early pregnancy are gone; increased appetite; can now feel baby kicking.

Eat Healthy

Stay Away From Drugs and Alcohol

Get A Lot of Rest

Try Not To Stress

Visit the Doctor Regularly
