New Emerson Ninjas: We Can Do Hard Things!

As part of our school's Covid-19 lesson planning, teachers are purposefully teaching a variety of social-emotional skills that we believe students need to navigate this year's challenges. In the Libratory last week, learners found out about "Grit," perseverance, and persistence. They learned that just like ninjas, who wear masks and keep their distance, we too, can be warriors who do hard things.

Welcome Back, New Emerson Families!

Hello, New Emerson families. Wow! We are celebrating our first week of school. Everyone is excited to be back and it shows with all of the smiles I see on their faces. Thank you for preparing your learner for their return to school.

Celebration is in order for implementing the drive thru pick-up and drop-off. We are improving our time each day. Here are a few tips for making our drop-off go more smoothly.

  • Pull onto the gravel to unload. Unloading on the street is impeding traffic.

  • Have your child ready to leave your vehicle with their backpack and water bottle for the day.

  • Your child can open the door. They do not need to wait for an adult to open it for them.

We are unloading cars between the two gates. Students should not unload at the dumpster area. Thank you for your cooperation.

Our mornings feel lonely without you and we miss you! Thank you for your continued support as we make our journey through our New Emerson Phase 1 plan. When you have questions or need additional information about what’s happening at school, please feel free to email, call, or catch me at drop-off or pick-up time.

Looking forward to a great year of learning.

Sincerely,

Terry Schmalz
