School Announcements & Updates

Caring and Sharing Groups

Caring and Sharing groups will start next week. Due to President’s day, the Monday groups (grades 1,3 and 5) will be held on Wednesday. The Tuesday groups (K5, 2nd and 4th) will run on its regularly scheduled day. All groups are conducted during their lunch period and will be held in the old staff lounge across from the library. The groups will run for the next 15 to 20 weeks. Thank you for helping to secure permission slips so that we can begin.

Mentor program

Just a friendly reminder to touch base with the student you are mentoring. Also, please make an attempt to check with the homeroom teacher of the child you are mentoring to see how the student is doing. An email works great for that.

Mobile Ag Lab Preparation

We have a super exciting opportunity for our students in the next couple of weeks! We will welcome the Mobile Ag Lab February 16-19. Please ensure you have reviewed the documents that were included in last week's Monday Memo

Field Trip Chaperones

Field trips are quickly approaching. Do not wait until the last minute to secure volunteers. The volunteer process with clearances can take up to a month or more. All clearance papers are found on the SDOL website under parents and then clearances. If you have any questions ask Amanda Gartman or Ryan Wertman. Remember, if a parent is considered a visitor (less paperwork) they must be under your eye/watch at all times. If they are considered a volunteer (more paperwork) they are then able to be left alone with a child.

WWWW Sign-Up Link

We have various options for our February WWWW. Please sign up for your February Workshop Sessions using the link below:

Please be sure you sign up by Tuesday, February 16th.

March Session Suggestion Sign-UP

The remaining months can be found on Schoology if you have a Workshop idea!

Scholastic Book Orders

If anyone is planning on submitting a Scholastic Book order of $25 or more, please see Mr. Aronson for a voucher for $5 off your order. They are only good until the end of February and I have six of them (only one can be used per order) so again, if you are submitting a order before February 29th of $25 or more see Mr. Aronson for a $5 off coupon.

ERCH Foundations Block Students

Please let me know if you are interested in K-4th grade teachers for the ERCH foundations bloc. They go out M/W or T/R and start Feb 29th. Please let me know if you are interested.

Tech Visit

We have an exciting opportunity to show off!

District Admin will be around to visit in classrooms for approximately 5-10 minutes each to view technology integration on February 25th from 9-11. The purpose of the visit is to show off the INNOVATIVE WAYS we are using technology and the amazing work that is happening in each classroom. This is also a way for us to advocate for more instructional technology and support!

Let me know if you have any other suggestions on how we can highlight tech usage!

In order to effectively create a schedule please answer the following questions. After everyone completes the survey, a

schedule will be sent out with exact times you can expect visitors.

If you have ideas you would like support with, please contact Mr. Calender, Mr. Lipisko, or Mrs. Mercado.

Morning Meeting Focus: Cooperation

District Updates & Announcements

CASE Data Re-Collection is Around the Corner February 1st through February 29th

Our district will once again be partnering with BrightBytes, an educational research and analytics organization, to learn more about our schools’ technology use for student learning. To better show our growth over the past year, and showcase the impact of our initiatives, we have made a commitment to re-collect. Our goal is to gather metrics on technology access and skills, and on our district’s technology environment, in order to understand the connection between technology use and student achievement. Re-collection also allows us to prioritize different initiatives based on the changes in our profile.

Please ensure all of your students take the survey.

Student Questionnaire:

Student Questionnaire's take approximately 10 minutes!

All teachers should have received a separate email from brightbytes with a link to participate. Your participation is needed! It should take about 10 minutes.

Teacher Survey:

The deadline to complete is February 29th.

See someone going above and or leave a note for Mrs. Mercado so we can celebrate and acknowledge each other through the staff spotlight section of the Monday Memo!
