Our visitors stated the following:
"Wow they know so much and can explain it very well."
"We are so proud of them."
"These young ladies are going to solve the energy problems of the world."
"I wish I was going to school now. We love all the light in the building."
It is at times like this that we reflect on the plethora of learning opportunities that our students are exposed to every day. Their knowledge comes not simply from memorization of rote facts but instead comes to life with hands on learning and the chance to collaborate with others in the learning process.
We commit to continuing to provide outstanding STEM learning to learners of all ages. We are thankful for the support as we live this mission!
Thank you PTA for your AWESOME Donations to the Makerspace
Students love the sign, lego table with storage and consumable materials. As students visit these areas weekly they light up with excitement.

G.I.R.L.S. STEM Symposium - UT Dallas
Good Morning and Happy Spring!
The ITS Academy is an outreach program of the Jindal School of Management’s Undergraduate Information Technology and Systems program. The ITS Academy was created to provide engaging, interactive programs for younger generations who have an interest in learning about STEM opportunities. The 3rd annual G.I.R.L.S. STEM Symposium is on April 5-6, 2019. The event is open to all students 7-9th grade. Participants will get an opportunity to engage with female IT professionals, UTD faculty, staff, and students of the BS-ITS program and learn through interactive modules in Data Analytics, Programming, Arduino Boards, and Supply Chain. In addition to your STEM Center of Excellence, this event could be another STEM learning opportunity for all girl scouts.
High-Tech High Heels has awarded a generous grant to the ITS Academy to support the G.I.R.L.S. STEM Symposium. We are able to offer a discounted registration fee of only $10. This fee covers all meals and snacks, materials, t-shirt, and tote bag. Seats are limited so registering as soon as possible is advised.
Staff Spotlight
This week on April 4th we celebrate our amazing librarian, Mrs. Wyse. Here is what she has to say about herself:
I am very excited to be the Library Media Specialist at Prestwick STEM Academy! I come from a background of 15 years in the elementary classroom. I have taught previously in both Arlington, and Little Elm. This is my third year as a Library Media Specialist and I am thrilled to be on such an amazing campus! A Library Media Specialist is a mix of both a librarian and a technologist that helps to bridge skills between both.
I have a bachelor's in elementary education from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma, and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Reading from the University of North Texas. I am certified in grades 1-8, ESL, and as a school librarian.
I live in Frisco with my husband Jesse, daughters Hailey and Hannah, and dog Jilly.
