February question

Congratulations to this year's WCMEA All-county Band members

On Saturday, February 5th students ranging from 7th-12th grades participated in the Wayne County Music Educators Association All-county Band auditions at Newark High School. Each student had to memorize scales, perform two prepared excerpts on their instrument, and perform a short section of sight-reading. The students perform in front of a trained adjudicator that rates the students on seven different categories. It takes a great deal of courage, hard work and determination to participate in this event.

Congratulations to the following high school students who earned a spot in this year's WCMEA All-County Band to be held March 18th-19th at Marion High School:

Sr. High All-County Band Members:

  • Emma Guthrie - Flute - PERFECT SCORE
  • Savannah Harding - Trumpet
  • Cadence Strausser - Trumpet
  • Kathryn Harms - Mallets
