We also celebrated Parent Educator Laura Crawford when she was nominated to be recognized by the district's iNspire program. She recently appeared on the district's web page as well as Fox4 news highlighting the Parents as Teachers program and the amazing work she does with families!
Books and Toys added to Success By 6
Success By 6 continues to offer convenient, contact-free, curbside checkout. The toy catalog has been updated with more puzzles, dramatic play, math, and literacy toys. A catalog of children's books is now available as well.

- Complete the online checkout form after looking through our catalog below
- Judy Braden will email you to arrange a pickup time.
- Arrive at your scheduled time and pick up your toys outside the front door of our office.

Refer a Family - Win a Walmart Gift Card!!
Help us spread the word that we are enrolling new families!
All currently enrolled families that refer a new family during October & November will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Walmart gift card! The referred family must enroll in NKC Parents as Teachers. (Refer 3 friends--receive 3 entries in our drawing!!) The winner will be drawn on December 2nd.
Families can enroll by:
- Completing the online enrollment form
- Calling the office at 816-321-5453
- Visiting the NKC PAT webpage

Cooking With Leigh, November 4th, 6-7 pm
Leigh is back with another edition of Kids in the Kitchen!! This month we will be baking pumpkin muffins. Afterward, Amber will lead a discussion on the benefits of a healthy breakfast along with easy ideas for healthy breakfasts
PARENT CAFÉS
Parent Cafés are spaces where parents and caregivers talk about the challenges and victories of raising a family. Discussions are facilitated by parent educators. Our goal is for participants to leave Parent Cafés feeling connected, supported, energized, and excited to parent. Please note that we are offering an infant/toddler session and a preschool session.
Preschool Parent Cafe: November 12th, 6-7 pm
Infant Toddler Parent Cafe: November 19th, 1:30-2:30 pm
Bedtime Stories with Amy and Julie November 17th, 6:30-7:30 pm
Put on your pajamas and snuggle in as parent educators, Julie & Amy share virtual bedtime stories with the family at 6:30. A conversation about the importance of lullabies along with tips and tricks to create tear-free bedtime routines will follow at 7:00.
Missing Storytime?
Mid-Continent Public Library offers virtual storytimes, dial-a-story, and more!

Virtual Storytimes are offered on most Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10 am. Click here to see the full list.
Book Bundles: Don’t know what books to check out for your child? Call the library and ask for a book bundle! They have ready made bundles or can pull books based on your child's interests. You can even use the curbside service to pick the books up!

Tumblebooks offers free animated talking picture books for children. All you need is a library card to access the site.

Due to COVID our store has had to make some changes. Please read carefully as the application process is different. This year our Focus will be on Toys and Hygiene products
Serving all Clay County residents residing in the following zip codes: 64116, 64117, 64118, 64119, 64155, 64156, 64157, 64158, 64161, 64163, 64164, & 64165
2020 PHONE Application will be taken:
- Saturday, November 7 10 AM - 2 PM
- Thursday, November 12 5 PM - 8 PM
- Saturday, November 14 10 AM - 2 PM
Please call 816-423-4123 during the above specified hours. Please have the following information available when applying. These documents must also be presented when picking up items.
- Copy of 2019 Tax Return
OR all of the Following
- Lease or Copy of Property Tax for Proof of Address
- Proof of Income
- Social Security Cards for all family members
- Legal Birth Certificates- for each child
- Driver’s License or Photo ID- for those 16 years and older
No in-store shopping will be available this year.
Drive-Thru Distribution of items will be Dec 7,8, & 9 at 1534 Burlington in North Kansas City
We ask that all clients stay in their car while picking up.
Harvesters Mobile Food Pantry
Harvesters will be distributing food to families at locations across the Northland throughout the month of November at Mobile Distribution Sites. (see below)

Wednesday, November 4th 3:00pm-5:00pm or while supplies lasts
Wednesday, December 2nd 3:00pm-5:00pm or while supplies lasts
For your safety and the safety of our staff and volunteers, diapers will be loaded into the trunk of your car.
Please bring the following!!!
- Parent/Guardian ID (Driver’s/State ID or Passport)
- ID for Child under 4 years of age (Birth Certificate, Medicaid Card, State ID, Passport)
