LIBRARY PAGES
We are taking our STAR reading placement tests this week for AR levels.
Also, Kindergarten will start taking their library books home. This is a big step of responsibility for these kiddos. We have reviewed book care and the do's and don'ts of having our book at home. Books are due the next library day. McDonald is on Mondays and Duncan is on Tuesdays!
NURSE RX
With winter comes sick children and I would like to remind everyone of the Districts policy of when children should be kept home.
- A temperature of 100 or greater without medication
- No vomiting within 24 hours
- Students with diarrhea
- Students with a rash unless there is MD documentation that the student is cleared to be in school.
On another note there are few children due for immunizations. These student's parents will be notified via a note coming home with these notifications.
If you have any questions please feel free to call Nurse Moore at 892-9705 or e-mail at Nancy.Moore@matsuk12.us.
Thanks for sharing your children with me this year.
WINTER GEAR
All children need to be dressed appropriately for the weather while waiting at the bus stop and playing at recess. They should wear boots, snow pants, coats, gloves, and a hat. Please make sure your children have these items. Younger children have a hard time regulating their body temperature and do not always know when they are getting cold. If they do not have the appropriate gear they will not be allowed to go to recess. The school has very few items that students may borrow.
MUSIC NOTES: BAND CONCERT
Tuesday, February 13th at 6:30pm at Houston Middle School - Big Lake Elementary Band will combine with Meadow Lakes Elementary, Houston Middle, and Houston High School bands for a special band concert that evening you won't want to miss!
LOST & FOUND ITEMS
Can't find your child's gear? The lost and found is located by the back entrance to the gym.
