Parent Notification of Student Performance
State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR)

Plano Independent School District

Graduation- Please visit the Plano East website at https://www.pisd.edu/Domain/57 to read both the “Countdown to Graduation” document and the details regarding the Ford Center.


Graduation Practice and Ticket Distribution:

Ticket Distribution-Seniors must pick up their own graduation tickets (no parents please) on campus Friday, May 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. The exact location will be announced at a later date. Only seniors who have passed three of five end-of-course exams and all courses required for graduation may participate in the commencement exercises. Receipt of tickets does not guarantee participation since grades for all exams will not have been posted at the time of distribution. Students must present a photo I.D. and sign for receipt. *Graduation tickets not picked up by Thursday, May 30 will be forfeited and redistributed.

Seating Assignments – Please find your graduation seating assignment before next Thursday’s mandatory rehearsal! Seating assignments are posted on the windows in the B1-B2 breezeway and the gym lobby.


Commencement Photography

Diplomas -Actual diplomas will not be given during the ceremony. Graduates are encouraged to pick up their diplomas in the Plano East cafeteria on Monday, June 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Diplomas will not be mailed. Each graduate must pick up his/her own diploma and must show a photo ID. For security and privacy reasons, diplomas will not be given to parents or friends. Graduates may also pick up their diplomas in the Registrar’s Office during regular business hours on any date after June 10.


Juniors, it is time to sign up for you senior photos. Please click the link below and choose the best time for you to have it taken. Please keep in mind, even if you have senior photos taken somewhere else, you still have to have this photo taken so that you can be included in the yearbook.

ATTENTION 2019 Seniors and Parents: Please complete painting your spot with GREY PRIMER paint before Monday, June 3rd. If you have already finished painting or bought your black or white, you can use it, or pay $50 and PTSA will paint it for you. Purchase your ad to appear in the Fall Media Guide sold at the home football games to promote your businesses! During summer vacation, remember to donate your gently used clothes and shoes to the World Wear Project. The blue bin is located in the staff parking lot in front of Plano East.
