FCS Innovation Academy Accepting Applications
FCS Innovation Academy, a STEM magnet high school, is currently accepting applications for their 9th grade class for the 2022-2023 school year. Current 8th graders who live in North Fulton attendance zones, including AMMS, are eligible to apply. Applications can be found at https://www.fultonschools.org/domain/7344 and both sections of the application will be due by January 15, 2022. There are no academic requirements to be accepted, and a lottery is held in February.
IA offers a rigorous STEM curriculum for students interested in pursuing pathways in Engineering, IT, and healthcare. The best way to learn about the school is to take a tour and attend a parent information session. IA will be hosting them on Thursday 12/2 and 12/9 at 4:45 p.m. at the school.. To find out more about IA and sign up for a tour, please visit our website www.fultonschools.org/ia. For more questions, you may also email innovationacademy@fultonschools.org.
IA counselors will be coming to AMMS on Thursday, Dec 2, 2021, to meet with interested students and discuss student life, academic programs, and pathways at IA during homeroom time. Please contact Ms. Santos for more information.

Meet Dana Blackburn, our 6th and 7th grade French Teacher.
Bonjour ! Je suis Madame Blackburn, professeure de français ici à Autrey Mill Middle aux 6ième et 7ième niveaux (grades).
I’ve taught my whole 9-year teaching career here at The Mill.
Through high school and college I was a server, nanny, barista. While getting my Masters, I was an Obits/Classified ads rep. for the Tuscaloosa newspaper. I married and moved here to find my passion in teaching French!
- Fun fact about me: I got engaged in Paris!
Everyday checkout procedures
- Please send a note with your student to the front office the morning of the early check out.
- Put the time you will check out your student in the note.
- The note becomes the students PASS to leave class and meet you at the front desk.
- We do not call into classrooms as not to interrupt instructional time.
If you have question about this please contact Carman Anderson, Jackie Dejo or Patricia Movilla-Leal.

- Go to the temperature check-in desk where you will log your name, date, and temperature.
- Then enter the front office where you will present your drivers license to be scanned into our badge system (Raptor) and receive a visitor badge.
FCS COVID 19 Reporting Procedures
FCS COVID 19 Reporting
Due to the ever-changing nature of this pandemic, the district will continue to monitor COVID data and recommendations, consult with public health officials, and make additional adjustments as necessary. If your child is sick, please keep them home. Families are still required to report a confirmed positive case of COVID-19, a pending COVID-19 test result (regardless of the reason for testing), and a direct contact with a person who is COVID-19 positive. FCS student/parents must use the Parent Reporting Portal to make the COVID-19 report.
