Michelangelo apprenticed to the painter Ghirlandajo. He also studied ancient paintings and sculptures in Medici collection

He was an italian sculptor, painter, architect and poet

What type of art did they create

He made the paintings the Holy Family, Doni-Madonna, Battle of Cascina. He made the sculptures Kneeling Angel, St. Proculus, and St. Petronius.

Michelangelo's patrons were Leonardo and San Lorenzo

They didn't use Religion as a part of the piece. I don't think there were any new techniques.

Why do you find this piece so interesting

I find this piece interesting because a guy holding a chopped off head like its nothing is pretty interesting like why is his face so calm about it.

They use humanism because David is a human and he is showing humans are good since he killed the bad guy and he used reason instead of using religion
