Fun School...
myth, oxymoron, or TRUTH?
Uh oh!
Tanner's gone...
This was the scene on Wednesday morning when we arrived at school. What should we do? Learners combed the classroom looking for our pet. We set a peanut butter trap for him that afternoon (after learners left). What happened next?
The night watchman...

Ocean
We are rounding out our study of the ocean. We are preparing for an "Ocean Market." The tentative date is set for May 20th (more information to come). On that day, learners will buy and sell their products. Our job is to decide on souvenirs that our family should make to sell at Market. Learners are currently earning pennies to spend at their Market. To begin our discussion, we made a web of souvenirs that we have had experience with. Then, we made a web of things we have learned this year about the ocean. And lastly, we brainstormed possibilities. We came back to our list and made decisions. The only stipulation from me was...That one of the products HAD to incorporate writing. The learners decided that we are making...
- Ocean picture frames
- Orca stuffed animals
- Coral reef notebooks
- An Ocean Newspaper (btw...I am SUPER PUMPED about this!!!)
We will need some items to make our products with. Be on the lookout for a sign-up genius.

Chaperones and Lanark information
Our field trip is Wednesday, April 20 . Please have your learners wear their red PRS t-shirt or a red t-shirt.
The buses are leaving school at 8:20. You may follow behind the bus or meet us at Lanark by 9:00. We anticipate a departure time of 1:30 to return to
school. I'll have a sign out sheet if you want to check your child out from school.
We will be fishing. The ground may be squishy and wet due to all the recent rains so wear clothes and shoes that you can get dirty.
I also need someone to run by the school before around 8:00 and pick up the lunches so that I don't have to be concerned about putting them on the school bus. Please let me know if you can help.
It will be a fun day. I'm glad Room 141 will have a great turnout of chaperones so that when we are fishing there is a small adult to student ratio. Thank you so much for supporting our classroom. We will not visit the gift shop. Please do not send money with your child. Chaperones, please do not take students to the gift shop. If you would like to take your child, please wait until the buses leave. Also, see flyer below from Lanark.
I've included directions:
FROM I-65 NORTHBOUND FROM MONTGOMERY:
Take I-65 North to Exit 179 (Prattville/Millbrook)
Turn right (go east) on Cobbs Ford Road approximately ¼ mile and turn left on Edgewood Drive (first paved road to the left past Chevron). At the “T” in the road, go right approximately ½ mile and turn left onto Lanark Road. When visiting, just follow the signs to the destination of your choice.
