About Me
A Non-Traditional Internship
I am an academic student researcher this semester with InterFuture, a nonprofit that focuses on intercultural research. The journey with InterFuture began in May of 2015, when I was accepted into the program. The following month I traveled to Boston for an exploratory research conference. I left Boston with plans for a research project as well as possible locals for my future year abroad in the United Kingdom and South Africa.
After a series of intense conferences, I have finally solidified my research question. I am now studying how state policy effects the goals of local sports programs and their combined effect on the experiences of Muslim adolescent girl participants. Throughout the course of my engaged learning experience, I have focused on building my project plan and familiarizing myself with the culture of the two locals.
