ThunderRidge Weekly Update
May 5, 2023
Patterson's Perspective
Grizzly Families,
Congratulations to our Class of 2023!
This week marked their last regular week of classes at ThunderRidge. They begin next week with their finals and end it with the Senior BBQ and Gauntlet.
This time of year is bittersweet - we are excited for our seniors to graduate, but will miss them next year. I am proud that the Class of 2023 is my first graduating class as principal, and I look forward to sharing the stage with them on May 16th.
Senior parents, please make sure you are looking on our website for information about graduation and logistics for DU. There is also important information below. Thank you all for a great year, I am excited to celebrate with you at the graduation ceremony.
On another note, I know that traffic flow is not always the best for dropping off and picking up students, and we want to make sure everyone is as safe as possible. We have many students that walk, ride bicycles, and use E-Bikes. Please remind your student to make sure they are using the crosswalks and bike lanes for safety purposes. Drivers, please be aware of your surroundings and following traffic flow for the safety of all. I appreciate all your help in keeping everyone safe.
And finally, thank you to Grizzly Gratitude for providing a delicious Cinco de Mayo lunch to our staff today for Teacher Appreciation Week. We are so grateful for your continued dedication and support of ThunderRidge.
Have a great weekend,
Sean Patterson

Seeking Parent Members for the SAC - Submissions Close Today (5/5)
We are seeking candidates to run for the TRHS School Accountability Committee (SAC).
If you are a parent/guardian of a TRHS student who will be enrolled in the 2023/2024 school year and are interested in serving on this parent-led committee, we would love to have you run!
SAC meetings are public and open to all. Members of the SAC, which include parents/guardians elected by their peers, a PTO representative elected by the PTO, a teacher representative elected by their peers, a community member appointed by the Principal, and the Principal, have voting privileges and advise the school's administration on various issues. Responsibilities for all members are parent/guardian views on topics the SAC addresses including, but not limited to: budgetary decisions, the Unified Improvement Plan, and safety issues.
Terms for elected members are two years and are staggered for continuity. Members attend six SAC meetings during the school year. Meetings run no more than 90 minutes and are currently held in the late afternoon. Exact scheduling will be determined with members at the first SAC meeting of the school year.
There are currently three open positions. If more than three candidates are interested in serving on the SAC, we will conduct an election. Each TR parent/guardian will be allowed to vote. Once the voting window (TBD) has closed and the votes are tallied, the top vote-getters will be announced.
After the elected parent members of the 2023/2024 school year have been identified, election to officer positions within the SAC can be conducted according to the bylaws. More information can be found on the TRHS website under the Parent tab.
If you are interested in becoming a voting member of our SAC, please send your name and a short paragraph introducing yourself and why you would like to serve on SAC to
trhssac@gmail.com. Please respond by May 5 if you're interested.
Please direct any questions you may have to our current members at trhssac@gmail.com.
Thank you for your consideration.
