Other superheroes this week were, Jeff Stavinoha, Kimberly Embrey, "mystery laminating people", Mary Flores, Custodial Staff, Cynthia Torres, Kelsi Powers, and Leanne Marshall.


There is a bulletin board next to the teacher boxes. Please write positive notes of encouragement and recognition to staff members you notice going above and beyond! Each week we will recognize a Superhero of the Week!

Please add to your homework sheets if possible. We are trying something innovative. We will see how many parents come to this earlier meeting time and seek feedback. Thank you!

We have teamed up with the cafeteria to serve a healthy, warm spaghetti dinner for Parent Nights!

Yes, that is correct. Instead of our usual pizza and water, we have teamed up with the cafeteria to serve our families a warm, healthy dinner on family nights. Please spread the word. We will be serving spaghetti for dinner on Tuesday and Thursday nights!

The video link above is from Ms. Yosko's class. She noticed the students misunderstanding "decomposing" numbers. The students thought this meant "take away." She immediately brought them over to the carpet and initiated a reteach lesson. Notice how she is using the academic vocabulary each step of the way.

Are you in search of guided reading books, class novel sets, or big books for a read aloud? South Elementary has many to choose from! Check out our Guided Reading room for books on levels A – Z (to include High/Low books). Our resource room in the library houses many class novel sets and big books.
