FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
What an incredible Catholic Schools Week here at Father Doyle! I want to extend my sincere thanks to all who made this week possible including students, staff, and volunteers. The National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) creates an annual Catholic Schools Week logo (pictured). Regarding this year's logo, the NCEA notes that it "emphasizes that a Catholic school is more than its building or institution, ultimately it is its people that define it."
If this is the case, which I firmly believe it is, then how blessed we are at Father Doyle School to have the people - students, staff, teachers, and family - who define our community. Indeed, this past Catholic Schools Week was a beautiful reminder of this. Throughout the week older students served as models and leaders to the younger students in their tribes, teachers and staff went above and beyond coordinating an immense array of activities, and parents and families showed incredible support donning tribe colors, donating canned goods, and much, much more! They say Catholic Schools Week is meant to be a celebration of what makes Catholic education great. Not only did we celebrate what makes us great this week, but we witnessed it first hand.
Please be sure to see additional photos from the week below! In addition, a few more announcements and details regarding upcoming events:
Re-Enrollment for Current Families Now Open - Enroll by February 17, 2023
A reminder that current families are now eligible to re-enroll for the 2023-2024 school year.
In order to provide our current families with priority for enrollment, we strongly encourage all current families to re-enroll within the re-enrollment window continuing through February 17th. All current families who re-enroll within this window are guaranteed a spot for the 2023-2024 school year.
Enrollment is completed via the FACTS Family Portal, and instructions were sent to all current families via email.
Please note, with some classes at or approaching capacity, we are not able to guarantee a spot for current families who attempt to re-enroll after February 17th. Thank you for choosing Father Doyle School!
New Virtue of the Month - Honesty
As we welcome the month of February, we will also be studying a new virtue and the accompanying saints. The virtue this month is honesty, which our Virtues in Practice program defines as being trustworthy and true.
As a reminder, students will study this virtue throughout the month in their religion classes, as well as learn about a saint or saints who particularly exemplified this virtue in their lives. The virtues, saints, and home projects for the month can be found in the Virtue Corner below.
Aftercare Schedule - Week of 2/6 - 2/10
As announced previously, the aftercare program now publishes a weekly calendar of events, gym/playground schedule, etc. You can find the schedule for the week of 2/6-2/10 here. Thank you!
Lastly, a reminder that this upcoming Wednesday, February 8th is an early dismissal day, with students dismissed at 1:30pm and after care concluding at 4:30pm.
God bless and go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin
