How many people die due to electricity per year?
An average of 411 workers were electrocuted each year, with the CURRENT average annual rate being 0.4 per 100,000 workers. WATT?! This is a problem that has INFUSED many families with sadness.
People affected?
Among the 1 million electricians employed in North America, 97 percent have experienced electric shock or injury while on the job.
Fixing and preventing the problem
Many engineers have a VOLTING ambition to solve this problem, but while they're CHARGING a solution, people can still do things that prevent them from being electrocuted.
For example:
-Don't use electric appliances near water.
-Don't use devices that have worn plugs or cracked wires.
-Don't attempt to fix electrical devices yourself.
-Inspect extension cords for signs of wear and tear.
-Replace old cords that are cracked or frayed.
-Only use exterior extension cords for outside use.
-Don't overload cords or electrical sockets.
-Pull the plug, not the cord, when disconnecting it from the socket
