USB President Brian Jin Says Thank You and Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
Good Evening Brahma Teachers,
I hope our email finds you well during these uncertain times. This week is teacher appreciation week, and on behalf of the student body, I would like to say thank you to our hard-working teachers for their work both on and off-campus. It is safe to say, without the guidance of our amazing teachers here at DBHS we would not be able to succeed academically, and be the everyday leaders we are today.
Our respect and admiration for you can not be put into words. As young teenagers, we often are a handful to handle, but your patience and firmness have made a huge difference and we thank you for establishing healthy boundaries and creating an environment of trust. As teachers, you have provided us with the nurturing space and materials necessary to help us make our dreams into reality. And for that, we owe you our utmost gratitude for everything that you have done for us.
Sincerely,
Brian Jin
USB President

Senior Takeaway Testimonials - Due May 8!
Dear Class of 2020,
With only 3 weeks until you are done with school I would imagine you are feeling nostalgic, not just about this year but about the last 4 years at Diamond Bar High School. Some of you have known each other since Kindergarten. Some of you maybe just transferred to Diamond Bar this year. But what you all share in common is that whenever or however you got here, you will all be graduating as Brahmas! You will always look back on the experiences that you shared together at Diamond Bar High School!
We want to hear your “voice” in the Class of 2020 Commencement Ceremony.
What do we need from you?
In a short statement, sentence or phrase, please reflect on what your days as a Brahma have meant to you. What experiences stand out most when you think back? What did you takeaway from your experience at Diamond Bar? We will be including some of your takeaways in the Prelude of our Virtual Commencement Ceremony. Time is limited so we will use the first ones that are submitted. This should be a 10-15 second segment. We will be using the audio.
Please turn this in by May 8
Examples:
“DB thank you for being my home away from home for 4 years”
“I’m going to miss the chocolate chip cookies”
“What will I do without hearing Mr. Neil’s whistle passing through the halls?”
Please upload your Senior Takeaways by clicking HERE.
Thank you Seniors!

2020 YEARBOOK - Update
Information about Yearbook Sales and Distribution
Yearbook Distribution: The yearbook staff worked very hard to complete the yearbook and they are looking forward to distribution. If you ordered a yearbook this year, we will be distributing yearbooks when it is safe to do so. At this time, we do not know when distribution will take place or how we will be distributing the yearbooks, but we do know it will not be in May. Due to COVID-19, the plant that prints the yearbook has been closed since March 23, 2020. The plant is scheduled to re-open on May 4, 2020. Once we hear that the yearbook is printed and ready for delivery, we will send out information for distribution. Thank you for your patience.
Purchasing Yearbooks: If you are a senior and you would like to purchase a yearbook, there is information on dbhs.org. If you are an underclassman, you may purchase a book at distribution while supplies last.

Jonathan Ho: President and Principal Viola of our Brahma Symphony
Hey Brahmas!
Hope you’re all doing well! I’m Jonathan Ho, the president and principal viola in the DBHS Symphony. Of course, some of you may know me better as the chamber music program’s resident page turner!
I’m here today to check in with all of you and remind you to stop and smell the roses! While this may be a stressful time for you, with AP exams, a job, college, cancelled summer opportunities, and whatnot, it can also be a time of opportunity. With a more flexible schedule (and, I expect, a lighter courseload), it’s definitely a good time to start a new hobby or do some exploring!
For example, I’ve been fortunate enough to have some more free time, so I’ve started some online classes on edX, learned a few new pieces, and also (most importantly) watched Crash Landing on You— 10/10 would recommend!
Most of all, however, I implore you to put things into perspective. The other day as I was feeling frustrated, my brother chided me, “Really? This is the least of your concerns right now. We’re in the middle of a pandemic!”
His words really helped me understand that although quarantining, studying, or working may be harder than normal right now, it’s definitely much worse for many others, so be appreciative of what you do have— the southern California sun, a dedicated community, friends and family, an endless repository of accessible media, and so much more.
Please stay safe and take care! I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone again!
Best,
Jonathan Ho
