Attendance
Attendance is crucial because students are more likely to succeed in academics when they attend school consistently. Encouraging regular school attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your child for success - both in school and in life. Attached you will find a brochure created by the St. Charles County Juvenile Justice Center on attendance. The brochure provides future information on ways to help students or aid in student attendance. Additionally, we encourage all parents to frequently check Parent Portal for both attendance and grades. Below are links and information about Parent Portal:

95% Attendance is Required for A+
The A+ Program provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of A+ designated high schools who attend a participating public community college or vocational/technical school, or certain private two-year vocational/technical schools. There are also numerous four-year universities that will offer some scholarship money for students who complete the A+ Program. Please keep in mind 95% attendance record overall is required for grades 9-12 to be eligible for the program. Please see the website below for more A+ requirements.
WSD Belonging and Culture Family Survey
As part of the WSD’s ongoing efforts to meet the goals within the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP), district surveys will be administered to students in grades K-12, families, and staff. The surveys are designed to solicit feedback about the sense of belonging created within each building as well as perspectives regarding building/department culture. Each school and department within the district will use this survey data to understand the current reality and to make improvements moving forward.
Families may begin taking the survey by clicking here. The survey will remain open through Jan. 20.
The district windows for students to take the surveys are Jan. 30-Feb. 10 and May 1-19.
For more information regarding these surveys, including logistics about the administration of the surveys, a preview of the surveys, and information on how to opt out, please check out our WSD Belonging and Culture Survey page.

State Thespian Conference Success!
Twenty-three theatre students went to Kansas City last week for the Missouri Thespian Conference, which had 2,300 delegates, and we had some great successes!
- Rhett Cunningham became the first LHS student to win the Missouri Thespian Technical Theatre Scholarship!
- He spent 3 hours on Friday being interviewed by judges and college representatives who then voted for the winner. It was a marathon of an afternoon (and weeks of preparation), and he did a phenomenal job.
- Madeline Claravall became the first LHS student to become a State Thespian Officer (STO)!
- She is one of four students statewide who will sit on the Missouri Thespian Board and will run the conference next year.
- She spent months going through the application and interview process. She was elected in September, spent this conference being trained and working with the current STO's, and is now taking over the reins for the next year.
- Four of our students (Anna Wright - Solo Musical; Payton Busselman, Morgan Feinstein, & Elaine Thimyan - Group Musical) performed individual events, and all earned overall Excellent ratings.
- One of our students (Callahan Altheimer) was cast in a one-act and performed for hundreds of other delegates.
- Two of our students (Morgan Feinstein & Elaine Thimyan) learned and performed in an opening number that began the conference in front of all 2,300 delegates.
- We taught a workshop for the first time! It was called "Making it Work" and Rhett Cunningham and Mrs. Gehrke led a discussion about how students and directors can work together to make improvements within their troupe.
- All 23 students went to ten workshops throughout the three days, watched three mainstage performances, and represented Liberty SO well.

Need Help?
If you need extra help please consider these opportunities.
- Meet with the teacher before or after school. Even 10 minutes every day adds up to an extra 50 minutes of learning for you each week. Many times it is a one-to-one ratio with the teacher during these times.
- Visit your teacher during their office hours throughout Soar Time (Two 30-minute opportunities are offered weekly). Soar Time Teacher Office Hours Schedule
- Ask to see your teacher during Thursday Nest Time (pre-arrange prior to 2 pm on the Wednesday before Nest Time).
- Attend after-school Academic Assist in room 122 from 2:20 pm - 3:20 pm Monday - Thursday.
- Email your teacher to ask specific questions about assignments that you are struggling to complete.
Taking advantage of all of the above suggestions would lend you over ELEVEN hours of extra help a week!
