Manitou Springs Middle School
September 16th, 2022
Dear Families,
We had a lot of fun learning this week at Manitou Springs Middle School! In Advisory, students completed grade checks, organized their lockers, and engaged in team building activities. We also reviewed safety procedures and taught students how to anonymously report concerns using https://safe2tell.org. Please reach out to your child's teachers if you have questions or want suggestions about how to support at home. We look forward to partnering with you this school year!
Sincerely,
Mr. Cady
Principal

7th Grade Science:
Students in Mrs.DeCelles' 7th grade Life Science classes had some thoughtful conversations about LIFE and expectations. The presented guiding question was, "What are your expectations for how other lives should be treated"? The result is a social contract that can't be missed:

Forensics:
If you are interested in acting, public speaking, speech, or debate, please join the MSMS forensics team with Mrs. Huntington. Most students can sign up for lunchtime practice, or practice during enrichments. We will begin practices the week of September 26th and our first competition is at Woodland Park Middle School on December 10th!
Please e-mail chuntington@mssd14.org for more information. Use your voice! Go Mustangs!
Game Club:
Game Club has gotten off to a great start! We'd like to say thank you to our high school students who came down on the first day to give an "Intro to Dungeons and Dragons" presentation, and helped the kids make character sheets. Two of them will be hosting D-n-D campaigns for our middle schoolers. We also have lots of board games and card games going on! Everyone is welcome, Fridays from 3:30-5:00 in the media center.
