Letter from the Principal
Dear Tualatin Black Bear Families,
In the midst of these incredibly challenging times, I find joy and comfort being a part of our Tualatin Elementary community. My visits to classrooms, visiting with students around the school campus, speaking with families each day and the partnerships I have with our staff are all highlights on which to focus. It is easy to feel a bit helpless under the current pandemic conditions. It is important to remember that we can make a significant difference each day here at school and in community with each other. Our commitment to students and families is still what gives us our purpose each day.
Monday, January 17th, is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. School will be closed to honor him and what he stood for. We will continue to be reflecting on his legacy in classes again next week, and I hope this conversation continues at home. Please connect with your child’s teacher if you want to hear about how we focus on strengthening our school community, and celebrating his message of respect and nonviolence. These principles are at the heart of our anti-bullying practices. They also represent the importance of compassion, empathy and kindness within the Tualatin Elementary community.
Please remember to review the updated school year calendar. We hope this weekend provides safety, good health and time with those close to you.
Warm Wishes,
Mr. Kingery
Principal
