What A Hero Is
When someone thinks of a hero, they think of someone who saves cities, destroys evil, or has superpowers. But when I think of a hero, I think of someone who has grit and inspires others to follow in their footsteps. They can inspire other people to be like them, or complete their same goals. The people who aspire to be that hero realise that that person is extremely courageous and strong. the find out how that person struggled, strived and put in intense effort and work. That is when you truly understand who your hero is.
A hero is a professional athlete, starting off from having nothing to having everything. NBA player Kevin Durant started off his living in a poor part of Washington D.C., where he was very skinny, lanky, and uncoordinated. In his MVP speech, he said that when he moved into a two bedroom apartment as a kid, him, his mom, and his brother thought that they had made it in life. But after hours and hours of practice and work, he has went to college, won an MVP trophy, and won two gold medals in the Olympics and FIBA (Fédération Internationale de Basket-ball, a.k.a. International Basketball Federation.) Kevin Durant has inspired many other up and coming basketball players like how he was to do what you dream, and to never back down.
A hero is also a person who if they have their mind to something, they finish it out, and then go onto the next goal. My mom, Defrida, is a perfect example of this kind of hero. When I used to live with my mom on the West Side of Chicago, it was terrible. Drugs, crime, gangs, and danger plagued the area where we used to live. One time there were about fifty people living outside of my house trying to get drugs. My mom called the cops and they came a day later. It was not suitable to live in those conditions with two kids, age twelve and eight. My mom was determined to move away from the neighborhood. She would stay up late at night calling different landlords and searching the internet for houses. Now, she completed her goal of moving out of that part of town and lives on the North Side of Chicago. She is the perfect definition of a true hero, because she can inspire others to never give up, no matter what the conditions or atmosphere are.
Next time someone asks you who your hero in life is, don't just think of a person that you “like”, or someone that is “cool”. Think of someone that has truly shaped how you live your life, or has guided your morals and private thinking in a way that has inspired you to do better, or be be at what do.

“Untouchable Hero Essay”
Martin Luther King Jr. thought that life was all perfect and happy when he was a child. But one day it clicked in his mind. Something was wrong. There was not a connection between black and white. Exact opposites. This upset him, because he thought that all races were equal, and that no one should be discriminated because of the color of their skin. For 14 long years, he would pursue his vision, until he died for what he dreamed. Martin Luther King Jr. is the perfect example of a true hero, because he demonstrated leadership and determination.
Imagine a young, 27 year old man standing outside of the bus stop with hundreds all over the state. The different thing was that him, and many others, weren't trying to catch a ride on the bus to go to work, or to school. No. He was commanding a rebellion. The 1955 and 56 Alabama bus line boycott. “ The Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955-1956, led by the young minister Martin Luther King, Jr., and embracing his principle of nonviolence, garnered national and international attention (The Scribner Encyclopedia of American Lives, Thematic Series: The 1960s).”
Martin Luther KIng Jr. was not just an amazing leader. He was also a perseverer. Most people only know him for what he had done during the Civil Rights Movement. But, he graduated from Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester, Pennsylvania. After that, he went to Boston University to complete his doctoral studies. Once he completed his educational goals, he decided to become a pastor back Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. He showed that you can do anything, if you set your mind to it.
Being a leader and having determination can help you with many things in life. Pursuing a career path or dream, playing on a sports team, and many other things. I know two people who have show both of these qualities. My mom and MLK. They both have gone through their struggles to get to the end destination, completing their goals. They both inspired others (like me) to do what you love or dream. In conclusion, my hero ( my mom) and Martin Luther King Jr. are very relatable heroes, because they both show leadership qualities, and have determination to complete their goals.
her hope lasts longer
The city may be corrupt
but she is most definitely not corrupter
The work comes strong
her love is even stronger
But when the night comes to an end
She gets up and does it all again
