The Weekly Update
6/5-6/9
Testing Wraps Up this Week!
Today finishes up our regular testing sessions with 8th-grade Science and our Earth and Environmental courses. Tomorrow we have several make-up sessions.
All score reports will be sent home via mail with the final report card.
I will begin contacting parents in regards to Take2 Camp and Testing. This allows students within 5 points of meeting proficiency to attend classes and re-take the EOG.
What are my students doing this week?
Today as testing wraps up, students are working to build a mission statement, brainstorm project ideas for next year, and reflect on the progress that they made during the year.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, students will be on a regular schedule; except for WMMS athletes Tuesday will travel to Hidden Creek, and EMMS athletes will travel on Wednesday to Hidden Creek.
On Thursday, we will have an awards ceremony beginning at 8:30 am at the MHS Aux. Gym. We invite parents and families to attend (please get a visitor badge from MHS office). In our first year, we are proud of the work our students have done and we know that they will grow and improve over the next year.
After the awards ceremony, please join us for our school-wide end of the year celebration! There will be concessions for sale, bounce houses and obstacle courses, and a picnic lunch!
Friday is a half day, the release times can be found below:
EMMS Bus riders will dismiss at 10:55 am
Car riders will dismiss at 11:00 am
WMMS Bus riders will dismiss at 11:15 am
Summer Reading Assignment-7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens
At FCS, we strive to create lifelong learners, who read at least one book this summer. Research consistently shows that students who actively read during the summer do not experience the same level of learning loss as those who do not read during the summer.
Plus, it’s fun! Each student will demonstrate mastery of ELA skills and concepts through self-chosen differentiation.
Please be sure to pick up your book from your family teacher!
You will be responsible for turning in your assignment 9/5.
