A Note from Mrs. Stefanich
Hello Park Families,
If you are like me, you are looking forward to our Color the Park event this evening! There is lots of fun to be had, starting at 4:00pm at Hughes Park. Our run begins at 5:30. We will be doing three rounds of starts, and it is recommended that young children wait until the last wave. No matter how we try to section off our start, kids get eager and take off running without always considering those around them. Keeping our youngest runners near the back helps to ensure they don't inadvertently get bumped around at the start. Mr. Beimers will be making this announcement tonight as well.
Demolition will be starting next week! Please assure your children that, although it may be noisy, we are safe at school. We have our temporary drywall up separating our school hallway from the work going on outside, and our hope is that we become accustomed to the noise rather quickly. Due to our construction, our carline will also be changing just a little. The fenced off portion will shift onto our parking lot a bit, causing our parking lot pick up loop to shift to a bit smaller of a loop. Keep in mind it will be very important to follow our flow of traffic in order to keep our pickup line moving smoothly.
Thank you for all of your help and flexibility during this construction period,
Mrs. Stefanich

Notes from Music:
Music at Park Elementary is beginning wonderfully this year in our new room on the other side of the building. Recently we are focusing on how we can SOAR (Be Safe, Own It, Act Responsibly, Be Respectful) while acting kindly to others in and around our music making. We are well into Holiday music learning in preparation for our Park Holiday Program scheduled for Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Fellowship Reformed Church in Hudsonville. Please reserve the date.

In about two weeks we will begin auditions in class for solos, small ensembles, dancing groups, instrument playing, acting roles, and speaking parts. Through these auditions students realize their true potential, conquer their fears, and grow in self confidence of their musical ability.
4th graders have ordered and received their home recorders and need to have it with them at school each music day. Please let me know if you have any questions about recorders.
I am so thankful to be teaching your child music at Park Elementary this year!
Let me know if you have any questions.

School Lunch Information
Breakfast & Lunch
Breakfast and Hot Lunch are available everyday to all students. This year, school lunches are once again free to our students! This is such wonderful news and we look forward to feeding your children each day! Of course, you can still pack a lunch for your child if you prefer. (As a reminder, hot lunch is only free if your child takes a fruit or vegetable on their tray. Please remind them they have to *at least* put it on their tray for the lunch to be free.)

- Apply for Free and Reduced Price Meal benefits! If you are wondering if you would qualify, here are the Income Guidelines. Free and Reduced Meal Benefits are based on household size, income amount (gross), and income frequency. We encourage all families to apply, even though school lunches are free. Applying is confidential, and provides our school with additional supports for students.
- You will need to register a new account to monitor accounts or deposit online; Send Money to School accounts no longer exist.
- Regardless of benefits status, Milk-only purchases remain at $0.50 per carton. Milk is included as part of the whole MEAL benefit. However, if all your child wants is a carton of milk, their account will be charged 50 cents.

AYSO Epic Program
The mission of the AYSO EPIC Program is to provide a quality soccer experience for individuals whose physical or mental disabilities make it difficult for them to successfully participate on mainstream soccer teams.
Our EPIC program is open to players ages 4 and above. Players will meet once a week during the fall, winter, and spring seasons for a weekly practice & game session. EPIC Buddies and their EPIC Coach will assist our EPIC players as they practice soccer drills and play in a weekly game. Anyone in or outside of the Hudsonville/Jenison area is eligible to participate.
EPIC Registration for 2023 Fall, Winter, Spring (7 weeks each session)
Fall Session - week of 9/11/23 through week 10/23/23
Winter Session - week of 1/8/24 through week 2/19/24 (indoors)

By registering for EPIC, you are registering for all sessions at once. Players will have the opportunity to provide session availability. Volunteers are requested for all sessions for player familiarity and consistency.
