Stanley Middle School

Week of September 13

We are proud of our SMS students and teachers who rose above the challenge last school year in terms of EOG/EOC testing. Despite the obstacles of the year, Stanley Middle School was among the TOP THREE GCS middle schools in overall student proficiency last school year.

Beginning Week Four

We are kicking off our 4th week of school, which means interim reports will come home next Thursday, September 23. Remind your student to make sure they are completing and submitting all assignments. Students who are absent are able to get their work from Canvas so they do not get behind in their learning.

September 23 is School Picture Day. Picture forms will be coming home with students at the beginning of this week. Be on the look out for those forms.

We have a golf match this week, away softball and football, and then home softball on Thursday.

We also have the Science Fair interest meeting until 5:00 on Monday.

PTO is meeting Tuesday at 7:00 pm. Use the main entrance and look for folks to direct you to the meeting room.

We are looking forward to another great week at SMS!

Bus Rider Reminders

Students riding the bus are reminded that they are to stay in their seat, leave no trash on the bus, and keep their volume (be it their own speaking voice or that of a device) at a low level. Students should also be wearing their mask on the school bus. Any student with a concern about the bus should report it to their driver or to Mrs. Correll or any other staff member who helps with bus riders in the morning and afternoon.

COVID Reminders

If a student is exposed to someone who tests positive for COVID, is experiencing symptoms of COVID or tests positive for COVID, please so not send your student to school. You can call the school and ask for our school nurse and she will walk you through next steps. Students will be able to find work on Canvas for each of their courses. Thank you for your help and support.
