SMN Athletics & Activities

Athletic Update

Another hectic week has concluded for Boys Tennis. The match with SM Northwest was cancelled twice, once due to snow! However, the week started with good competition against Olathe North with Dayton Moody and Adam Thompson both securing varsity victories. The JV League Tournament also highlighted our team growth with a couple of Top Ten finishes. Cross Walters placed seventh and the doubles team of Oishik Ayon and Porter Lee placed ninth. This week’s action is against SM South at 103rd and Marty on Monday and then Varsity League on Thursday. The awards ceremony is Tuesday at 6pm in the auditorium.

It was another solid week for the Boys Golf Team as they played the second round of the Sunflower League Tournament at Sunflower Hills. All 5 golfers posted their best scores of the season. Jake Schneider and Jason Culp led the way for North.

On Wednesday at Village Greens, Varsity again lowered their team and individual numbers. Jake Schneider again led the way with 4 pars with Jason Culp right on his heels. Dylan Deathe and Cotter Knowles shot their best rounds of the season as Varsity continues to improve. JV Golfers were at Minor Park on Wednesday with Robert Wilson and Aidan Wiegers leading the way. Next week will be a practice week for the team as we prepare for the 3rd leg of the Sunflower League Tournament at Lawrence Country Club on Monday May 3rd.
