Verification & Registration Process
Hello all,
I hope that everyone is doing well and enjoying the last weeks of summer. In the next few weeks there will be a lot of communication provided to families about how our school day will look-like, which will include information about our learning platform, school supplies, student schedules, and technology to support Comprehensive Distance Learning. For now we are focusing on assisting families with the registration and the verification process. Late last week CSD provided information regarding our new online registration process and in that process families are able to choose between attending an online school or their neighborhood school.
If you are receiving this message it means that you are currently in our CMS database, you will need to complete our verification process in ParentVue and NOT the full registration process online. Full online registration is only for families that are new to the Centennial School District. The Verification process in ParentVue is for families who are already enrolled in the Centennial School District, for example those that attended Centennial Middle School or a CSD elementary school last year like: Butler Creek, Meadows, Patrick Lynch, Powell Butte, Oliver, Parklane, and Pleasant Valley Elementaries.
More about your options:
Online School is self-paced independent instruction with weekly teacher check-in and support from an adult family member at home. If you choose this option your student will not be returning to in person school this whole academic year of 2020-2021.
The other option is your neighborhood school, and it is also referred to as Comprehensive Distance Learning. This will provide students with daily teacher-directed and facilitated learning through live online instruction, recorded instruction, and online activities. We will remain in this format until we are in Phase 2 for reopening and potentially students will be able to return to in person school this academic year of 2020-2021.
Please ensure to complete this verification process by Monday August 24, 2020 in order to ensure that your student has a full schedule for the next school year as soon as possible and it will help us at CMS to have an accurate number of students enrolled in our school. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at Centennial Middle School, (503) 762-3206.
Thank You and Kind Regards,
Johanna Castillo
