Different Types of Different Eating Disorders
There are many different types of eating disorders that effect people of all ages, including anorexia nervosa, binge eating, bulimia nervosa, and many others. They are all the result of body image issues and can have serious effects on the body, some even life-threatening.
Effects of Different Disorders
Anorexia Nervosa- Not eating enough food, which in turn leads to a very low weight, often accompanied by too much exercise. Negative body image, people with anorexia believe they are never skinny enough.
Binge Eating- Episodes where a large amount of food is consumed, leads to being overweight or even obese. Binge eaters feel like they have to control over it, eating to the point of discomfort and being very shameful of it
Bulimia Nervosa- Related to binge eating, however after episodes of binge eating, there is vomiting in order to prevent weight gain. These people also feel shameful about eating, and their self-esteem directly corresponds to their body image
Excessive exercise- Results from having self-esteem issues related to body image, in order for them to be more content with their body these people must exercise an excessive amount.
