What does the word "family" mean to me?
Family means to me to bound together, must cooperate, and remember one another. Family means to me that we love each other, we share with other, we play with other, we laugh, we fight with each other, and family we live for.
What is an immediate family? Who is included?
A immediate family is a defined group of relations, used in the rules or laws to determine which that the family members of a person's family it is affected by those rules. It includes a person's parents, spouses, siblings, children and first cousins.
What is an extended family? Who is included?
A extended family is a family that extends beyond a nuclear family. It includes grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives, that are who all live nearly or in one household.
What is a guardian?
A guardian is a person that who looks after and is responsible for someone who is unable to manage their own affairs. Like disabled person or a child whose parents have died.
What is an adoptive/foster family? How are they different?
A adoptive/foster family have steps to becoming a foster parent, there are very similar to those as adopting, and involve many of the same seven steps. The first step is deciding what you want to be becoming a foster and contacting a foster care agency. It usually takes about a year from the time you first contact an agency to the time when a child is placed with you. they are different becuase often adopted by their foster parents, if they are unable to be reunited with their biological families.
What is a diverse family?
Working with Diverse Family Structures. The structure of the American family has never been so diverse: adoptive families, immigrant families, single parent households, blended families, families with stay at home fathers, families with grandparents as parents, and so on.
