Concert Tuxes, Blouse pants and dresses are ready to be picked up in the band hall. If you have not yet picked yours up, please plan to take it home Monday incase you need to get it altered.

2021-2022 Dates:

For our returning students please begin looking at the 2021-2022 calendar for the fall semester. All marching events leading up to school starting are confirmed. We will release the football schedule as soon as we can for the 2021 season.

Percussion Reminders

Wakeland Percussion,

Keep up the excellent work! During the month of February we will be putting the final touches on our smaller ensembles in preparation for our recording sessions at the end of the month. We will also begin to dig in to some of our larger ensembles.

This week we have our Mid-Winter Band Concert. Make sure that you are communicating with your band directors and know all of your concert band expectations. As a section, we will all stay until the end of the concert to help assist with putting our equipment away.

Each of you has been doing a better job at making sure our Percussion Room stays nice and organized, but we can all do a better job at putting away the community mallets. There is a lot of frustration from students not putting mallets away in the correct spot.

Ensemble Update

Sectionals have been set for “Toccata” and “Boom Bap”. “Toccata” has their first sectional this Thursday from 4:30p-6:00p. Part assignments can be found on Canvas. The sectional dates and times can be found on the Wakeland Band Calendar.

“Stones. On Shores. Waiting.” parts have been assigned. We are now waiting on the purchase and shipment of some new instruments required to perform this piece but we should begin learning it very soon. Music and parts can be found on Canvas.

Solo Update

Keep working on your solos!!!

Drumline

Drumline audition information will come out VERY SOON. Dates of summer camps are already on the calendar at wakelandband.org. Please make sure to consult the calendar before making holiday trip arrangements if possible.
