Prepare - Review Each student's legal file, CASLLS/Yellow Folder, and Red Portfolio
Once you have your caseload, review the information about each student so that you are ready to plan and be prepared for all students. Read their FIE and IEP. Check with last year's teacher if possible.
Plan for students
Met with grade level teams to plan. Share information/inservice the teams for the needs of your students.
Confirm Transportation Needs
- Check with parents to find out how each child is getting home the first day of school
- Confirm arrangements for transportation, get any changes needed from parents
- Contact parents with Plano ISD transportation times - Home districts will contact their families about bus transportation
Check Student Services in Their IEP
- Check classroom schedules to ensure that each student is scheduled for the services in the IEP on the services pages and in the minutes
- Check para schedules for coverage
- Check interpreter/CART schedules for coverage
- Check deaf blind intervener schedules for coverage
DM/FM Needs
- Review the IEP for students' DM/FM needs
- Discuss needs with Laura when she is on campus
- Prepare for your daily listening & equipment checks
Share Accommodations, etc
Send accommodations to all educational team working with a student and document their receipt of the accommodations. Prepare the accommodation logs and share them with staff. Go to the eGuide - https://www.pisd.edu/Page/7375
Check ARD & FIE Dates
As you look through your files to get to know your students, please confirm that the FIE and annual ARD dates reporting in the IEP system are the same as what is on the hard copy. This helps us catch mistakes in data entry.
If you have a student who needs an ARD meeting ASAP, then notify your team leader to get it scheduled.
