Confratellanza Scholarship
The Confratellanza Italo-Canadese is offering two $1000 scholarships to assist eligible students in their post secondary studies. The Confratellanza Italo-Canadese was founded in 1904 and is committed to the preservation of Italian cultural heritage and contributing to the enrichment of the multicultural community in the Greater Vancouver area. Surrey Teachers’ Association Jennifer Wadge Memorial Social Justice Award
The STA annually bestows four social justice awards of $2,000 to successful applicants attending schools in the Surrey School District. It is not necessary to have taken Social Justice 12 to qualify for the award.
Criteria:
- Grade 12 student graduating in 2017
- An official transcript
- Proof of acceptance to post-secondary OR registration in a national/international conference on social justice issues OR an internship in a social justice organization
- School and community involvement in a variety of social justice areas
- Evidence of leadership or personal initiative in activities or in an organization relating to social justice
- Statement of commitment to social justice
- Minimum of three sealed confidential references, preferably from a variety of sources.
Deadline for application is Friday, May 12, 2017.

S.S.S.A.A. Scholarships - May 9th EMS Deadline
The Glenn Young Scholarship, open in competition to both boys and girls, will be awarded annually to the candidate who successfully combines academics, leadership and service to physical education and athletics in the school. This scholarship was created for deserving students who are in clear financial need.
To be eligible, a candidate must:
- have attended Grade 12 at a Surrey Secondary School during the year of application;
- be qualified to enter the first year of a post-secondary program in the field of Education;
- maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Value of Scholarship
The Scholarship has at present a value of $2000.00. Each recipient will be eligible to apply for their award within two years following graduation.
The application forms are to be handed in to Ms. Domingo by May 9th, 2017.

The Big Kahuna Athletic Leadership Scholarship
The Big Kahuna Athletic Leadership Scholarship, open in competition to both boys and girls, will be awarded annually to the candidate who demonstrates leadership (active role of decision making) and service (you follow through on something which is already in place) to athletics in the school. Big Kahuna is a leader in team and institutional sporting goods including equipment, apparel, uniforms and footwear.
The Selection Committee, in assessing the merits of nominees, will base selection on the extent and type of leadership and service provided to the school.
Value $1500
The application forms are to be handed in to Ms. Domingo by May 9th, 2017.

The Norman O. Barton Memorial Scholarship
The Norman O. Barton Memorial Scholarship, open in competition to both boys and girls, will be awarded annually to the candidate who most fully displays the all round qualities exemplified by Surrey's first Supervisor of Physical Education.
The Selection Committee, in assessing the merits of nominees, is concerned with qualifications such as Mr. Barton possessed--high scholastic and literary attainments, physical vigor, moral force of character and ability to serve, work with, and lead others.
Eligibility:
- have attended Grade 12 at a Surrey Secondary School during the year of application;
- be qualified to enter the first year of a program leading to a Bachelor's degree in the area of physical education or sports science;
- rank academically in the top quarter of students in his/her graduating class.
Value of Scholarship:
The Scholarship has at present an annual value of $1,500.00. Each recipient will be eligible to apply for their award within two years following graduation.

EXTENSION ON ICBABC AWARD to APRIL 15TH!
ICBABC’s Annual Student Achievement Awards support outstanding students as they further pursue their academic endeavors within a post-secondary institution. The vision of the awards program is to invest in and develop strong leaders who demonstrate academic excellence, community involvement, a moral force of character, instincts to lead, and commitment to intellectual and personal development. There are 13 $2000 scholarships available!
Academic achievement is the foundational requirement of the scholarship, however, we will also award two Athletic Achievement Awards and one Special Needs Award, in addition to the existing Academic Awards.
The deadline to submit applications is APRIL 15TH, 2017
There are two ways an applicant can submit their applications:

Ministry District/Authority Awards
District/Authority Awards are $1,250.00 awards intended to reward students for excellence in non-academic fields. These scholarships are meant to assist in tuition for furthering students' post secondary education.

Partners36 Scholarships

BC Secondary Schools Rugby Union Scholarships
Multiple scholarships will be offered in 2017. All are valued at $750.00.
Scholarships shall be awarded to graduating students proceeding to a full-time program of studies at an accredited Canadian university or college.
Candidates must demonstrate:
- excellence in rugby;
- strong scholastic achievement; and
- proven character, citizenship and leadership.
In addition to meeting the requirement of scholastic achievement, they will have been leaders within their school and/or community and have made a valued contribution to their school rugby program, though not necessarily have been selected for representative teams at the zone, provincial or national level.

Ken Dryden Scholarship
Youth in Care Canada has administered this scholarship program in partnership with Ken Dryden since 1995. Each scholarship covers up to $3,000 or 80% of the cost of tuition and fees, whichever is less, and is renewable annually, based on reasonable progress toward the completion of a first undergraduate degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited publicly funded postsecondary education institution.

PGT Educational Assistance Fund
The Public Guardian and Trustee Educational Assistance Fund was established in June 1989. The Fund was derived from the generous donations of three private benefactors.
Annual bursaries are awarded to individuals "who are over the age of 19 years, and have been permanent wards of the Superintendent of Family and Child Service in the Ministry of Social Services and Housing (or its successors), and who meet the criteria deemed appropriate by the Trustee."
BURSARIES
Successful applicants are awarded annual bursaries ranging in value up to a maximum of approximately $3,300.00 (amount is indexed annually with the cost of living).

Bob Leonard Memorial Scholarship Program
IHOP Corporation has established a scholarship program to assist eligible students who plan to continue their education in college, vocational school or graduate school. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student′s choice.

Shear Comfort Scholarship
Shear Comfort is giving away a $1,500.00 scholarship to a student enrolled either in an engineering program related to the development of vehicles (mechanical engineering, automotive, aerospace, production, electrical, etc), Automotive Technology, or a similar program related to the automotive industry at an accredited college or university in Canada or the United States. The award will be given out to two different students per year.
How to Apply
In 300-600 words, answer the following question:
In your opinion, what will be the largest technological development in the automotive industry within the next 5-10 years and how do you plan to be a part of it?
*Deadline: October 15, 2017 (Fall Semester) or April 15, 2017 (Spring Semester)
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada in an undergraduate or graduate engineering, automotive technology, or similar program related to the automotive industry
- Must be a legal resident of the United States or Canada or hold a valid student Visa
- Must be able to provide proof of college or university enrollment upon request

Beach House Theater Scholarship
The Beach House Theatre is offering a $500.00 scholarship for students involved in the Performing Arts at their school. The successful student will also be invited to participate in a mentorship program with an industry leader during the run of the Beach House Theatre in August 2017.
Students who have been involved in stagecraft (courses/experiences), acting, theatre technical support, or directing and who have a keen interest in a career in theatre, film or technical support should apply. In addition to completing the application, students will require a reference letter from a school staff member, which will assist the committee in making their final decision.

The Loblaw Scholarship
The Loblaw Scholarship is a Great Place to Work initiative that’s designed to promote higher education through financial support to our valued employees, their family members and our loyal customers. The Program is part of Loblaw’s commitment to making a positive difference in our community.
To be eligible for a Loblaw Scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

CRI Canada Credit Union Scholarship
On behalf of British Columbia Credit Unions, CRI Canada is pleased to introduce the CRI Canada Learning Grant Program which will award 4 Learning Grants in the amounts of $1000 to eligible students for full-time study at a qualifying Canadian college or university in 2017.
Any student who is a member of a British Columbia Credit Union is eligible to apply for a Learning Grant provided they have received a valid high school diploma or will be eligible to receive a diploma during the year of application.
In order to be considered for a Learning Grant, applications must be received by April 29, 2017.
All Learning Grant applications must be accompanied by:
- An official transcript of final results of all high school credit courses to date (and post secondary results if applicable)
- One letter of reference from school principal, teacher, or professor/instructor
- Put your thoughts to paper: An essay of 500 words or less OR put your thoughts to video: Send us a three to five minute video. Be sure to describe your achievements including academic, artistic and athletic; community involvement, leadership, and education goals

Rotary Club of White Rock
The Rotary Club of White Rock is offering four x $1500 for students in attendance at South Surrey High Schools.
Please email Ms. Lo at lo_m@surreyschools.ca with the title "Rotary Club of White Rock" for a PDF file of the Scholarship Application Form. Applicants are encouraged to include a cover letter, as well as a brief summary of their experience and personal accomplishments as part of the application process.
This application is based on the following:
- Entering full time registration at a post-secondary institution.
- The post-secondary program can be either academic or trades training.
- The Rotary Club of White Rock Scholarship Committee will consider the following items as key items in the selection process:

EFMABC Bursaries
The Educational Facility Managers Association of British Columbia is pleased to offer four $1,000.00 bursaries to graduates of the 2016/2017 school year. Our association is comprised of administrative and management personnel of school districts who are responsible for construction, maintenance and custodial services, etc.
These bursaries are offered to secondary students completing their grade 12 year who will enter a recognized post-secondary educational institution in the 2017/2018 term. Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement and/or special needs.
Preference will be given to students entering the fields of engineering, architecture, or building technology. Applicants must be dependents of school district employees in the school plant area (i.e. Maintenance or Custodial).

The Jessie Richardson & The Sid Williams Memorial Scholarships
Theatre BC invites applications for its two annual $1,000 scholarships named for two of Theatre BC’s most fondly remembered pioneers who dedicated much of their lives to community theatre in British Columbia. Applicants must have been accepted by a recognized Canadian Theatre School or post-secondary theatre department.
Grade 12 students are also invited to apply, stating the school to which they have applied. Applicants, or their parent(s), must be current members of Theatre BC.

BC Sports Scholarships
1. BCSS ZONE SCHOLARSHIPS 14 Scholarships of $500 each
___________________________________________________________________________
Applicants must have competed in at least one BCSS approved sport during grade 12. They must be enrolled in a B.C. School who are graduating this year and will be entering their first year of full-time studies in a Canadian University or College. Applicants must have demonstrated exceptional athletic achievement in a BCSS sanctioned sport, have a minimum grade percentage of 75% and have demonstrated outstanding service and leadership in school and/or community.

2. DAVE GIFFORD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 1 Scholarship - Male for $1,000, 1 Scholarship - Female for $1,000

Dave Gifford was a BCSS Director from 1988-90, and received the BCSS Honour Award in 1992. He was a teacher and Administrator in Vancouver, and died in 1992. In his honour, this scholarship is for one male and one female student who truly excels as a student-athlete.
Applicants must have competed in at least two BCSS approved sports during grade 12. Unsuccessful applicants for the Dave Gifford Memorial Scholarship will automatically be considered for their respective Zone Scholarship. (Please DO NOT complete two applications)

3. BERT & GRETA QUARTERMAINE BADMINTON 6 scholarships, $1,000 each

BC School Sports is pleased to advise that the Bert & Greta Quartermaine Badminton Scholarship fund will be increasing the available scholarships this year. This year, there will be six scholarships of $1,000 each that will be awarded to three male and three female student-athletes enrolled in member schools. Consideration will be give to an applicant's participation in badminton for a school team, their volunteerism and involvement in their community.

4. BC Dairy Association Scholarship 2 scholarships, $500 each

KPU ABORIGINAL ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP - $5,000
Eligibility
a) must be a student enrolling at KPU for the first time
b) must identify as Aboriginal, First Nations, Metis or Inuit
c) must satisfy one of the following academic requirements:
- an 80% average in English 12 and 3 other academic Grade 12 courses, or
- the equivalent of a 3.67 transfer GPA on a minimum of 24 transferable university credits
d) must demonstrate leadership, community involvement and volunteerism
Conditions
a) enrolling in any KPU program
b) registration in a minimum of 12 undergraduate credits per semester
c) required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 for the duration of the award period

University of Victoria
Current Canadian secondary school students should now have self-reported their Grade 12 marks (deadline was March 31) to be considered for a GPA-based entrance scholarship. UVic will assess students for an entrance scholarship based on the grades they self-reported.

Huron University College rewards academic excellence and provides a number of automatic scholarships as well as scholarships that require an application.

UBC Sauder BCom Information Sessions
Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) Information Sessions and Building Tours at the UBC Sauder School of Business are available. These gatherings provide a casual setting for prospective students in grades 8-12 to visit the UBC Vancouver campus and learn more about the BCom program. Dates are as follows:

UBC Updates
Although UBC's application deadline has passed, some programs are still accepting applications. Remaining program applications may close at any time without notice, so submit your applications ASAP!
Self-reporting
Self-reporting period opens from March 3 to March 20. Students will receive an email from UBC outlining what information they will need to self-report.
- Students in a semestered curriculum will be asked to report their grades for semester 1 as soon as possible.
- Students in a linear curriculum will have until April 14 to report their grades, if they receive a later term 2 report card.
English Language Admission Standard
All UBC applicants must meet the English Language Admission Standard (ELAS). There are a number of ways to meet this requirement, but the most common ways include:
- Completing three years of full-time English curriculum studies in Canada
- Completing four years of full-time English curriculum studies outside of Canada
- Achieving a minimum score on an English language proficiency test
Summer program deadline
UBC offers high school students the opportunity to experience the university setting on the Vancouver campus with two-week summer programs: Future Global Leaders and Experience University Life. The deadline to apply for Canadian students is April 30, and the deadline for international students is June 30.

You can also learn more about programs, services, and spaces available for Aboriginal students on our Vancouver campus. PSI Selections Form
Are you planning on attending Post-Secondary next year? If so, your transcripts can be sent to various universities, colleges and institutes using the Student Secure Web on the BC Government website.
Prior to graduation, you can indicate which institutions you plan to apply to and have your transcripts sent electronically to them. Complete the Post-Secondary Institutions (PSI) Selections form using Student Secure Web. PLEASE NOTE, THAT POST-SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS MAY STILL ASK YOU TO SEND THEM TRANSCRIPTS SEPARATELY. MAKE SURE THAT YOU CHECK YOUR ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS!
Students access the online PSI Selections form from the Student Secure Web at www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/tsw/tsw/student/. Schools do not have access to this site. This is a personal document that requires students to provide authorization for the ministry to release their information to outside institutions.
