Help Us Protect Student and Staff Privacy
We ask that parent-guardians, students, and anyone else please refrain from taking video or pictures of live video conferences that your student(s) may be participating in. This is important to protect the privacy of other West Linn-Wilsonville students as well as district staff members. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and help in maintaining security and privacy for our students and staff.
Middle School Student Possession Retrieval May 21-22
All West Linn-Wilsonville middle schools will provide time for students to access the school building to retrieve personal items on May 21-22. This process will follow all Oregon Health Authority and state guidelines around social distancing.
In the next few days, middle schools will send home additional information regarding the student possession retrieval process. Students will have the opportunity to retrieve items from their locker. Any items that were left in locker rooms, including PE items, have been bagged and will be ready for students to pick up upon arrival.
Important measures to keep in mind during this process include:
Students will be asked to arrive at school during alphabetical-based time slots to ensure schools are in compliance with social distancing guidelines.
Students can be accompanied by one adult when entering the building.
Everyone who enters the building will be asked to bring and wear masks as well as adhere to six-foot social distancing.
A limited number of people will be allowed to enter the building at one time.
Staff will be on-hand to direct students and adults appropriately. Staff will also be available to help students access their lockers if they have forgotten their locker combinations.
We ask that students and/or adults retrieve possessions and exit the building in an efficient manner to ensure we can get through all students. Please watch out for more information from your building principal.

Nursing Notes — Water Safety
With the warm days upon us and summer nipping at our toes, we are all looking forward to getting back into the water. Whether you are out on a boat, kayaking, or swimming, it is important to be safe while in or on the water.
Drowning is one of the three leading causes of unintentional injury death among children ages 0-19. It is quick and silent and can happen to any family. It often occurs when an unsupervised child is near water. Children can drown in just an inch of water left in a bucket or wading pool. The most common setting for children to drown in is open water – oceans, rivers, and lakes.
Playing in the water – whether you are swimming or boating – can be fun, but it can also be dangerous, especially for children. Although most people don’t think much about water safety, being safe and following the rules will help prevent injuries and drowning.
Read important tips from your school nurses to keep you safe this summer.
