Ready for Winter? Notification System Test Oct. 25
The West Des Moines Community Schools is getting ready for winter weather and will be testing the notification system at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25. This system helps keep students and staff safe by providing notifications of inclement weather or emergency situation school closings.
The call will come from 515-633-5599 and is ONLY A TEST.
To make sure you receive the call:
- Log in to your Infinite Campus account. If you have a district email account, then you have an Infinite Campus account.
- Enter your preferred number into Infinite Campus and review your Messenger Preferences.
If you are unsure about either of the above steps, follow these instructions.

Marchmasters Achieve Division I Rating (Again!)
The Valley Marchmasters received their 57th straight Division I rating at the Iowa High School Music Association (IHSMA) State Marching Band Festival on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Waukee.
Preschool Palooza

Hillside Elementary School
Children ages 2-6 will enjoy fun and educational activities while their grown-ups gather information about early childhood opportunities, such as preschool programs and kindergarten enrollment in West Des Moines Community Schools. All activities and snacks are free.

Valley High School’s Performing Arts Department presents “The Rimers of Eldritch,” a play examining life in small-town Missouri during a moral crisis.
Share Your Expertise as a Community Education Instructor
Community Education is always looking for great instructors and new ideas for classes in our programs.
- Adventures provides fun classes, teachers, and enriching experiences for K-8 students after school, in the evenings and on the weekends.
- LEARNwest offers a wide range of classes for adults who want to expand their skills, make everyday life better, and want to try something new.
- ParentQuest provides a wide variety of opportunities for parents and other caring adults as they navigate each child’s unique path to success in school and life.
