Remote Learners in K-2
Elementary Update

Although links will be provided to each student, the times are in alignment by early and late schools.
Bells, TJ, Whitman, and GTECC - 9:15 a.m. - 9:35 a.m.
Birches, Hurffville, and Wedgwood - 9:40 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Sample Daily Schedule
The remote teacher(s) will offer live instruction in ELA, mathematics, and science/social studies. The former classroom teacher will begin the day with the morning meeting/SEL lesson.
Morning Meeting - 20 minutes
ELA
- Fundations - 20 minutes for K; 30 minutes for grades 1-2
- Read Aloud/Shared Reading - 10 minutes for K; 20 minutes for grades 1-2
- Small Group Reading - 15 minutes per group; each child will be included in a small group while other students read independently
- Writing - 25 minutes for K; 40 minutes for grades 1-2
Math - 40 minutes for K; 45 minutes for grades 1-2
Science/Social Studies- 20 minutes for K; 30 minutes for grades 1-2
* Kindergarten times are reduced to limit screen time.
Each day will include time for students to work on independent practice and special area asynchronous lessons. Spanish lessons will remain asynchronous and will be completed bi-weekly.
Your child's remote teacher(s) will be reaching out to you to introduce themselves and provide direction on how to access their live sessions and any digital activities will be placed in a "Remote Students" folder in Schoology and Seesaw on the original classroom teacher's account/page. It will be helpful to review the document below in advance.
