Remote Learning Update
June 2, 2020
Happy June!
The recent events in our nation have left many parents searching for answers and wondering what is appropriate to share with their child(ren). In Mr. Feder's most recent letter, he wrote, "I ask all families and all of our teachers to take time with the recent death of George Floyd and discuss the implications, and more importantly discuss how our children can eventually be part of the change that is so desperately needed." It is these tough conversations, when had at home and at school, that will help all of our students to be the change that we want to see in the world.
Please check out Mrs. Priano's website, which contains resources to help parents have these important conversations with their child(ren) - It contains ideas for summer, as well. Our district has had a lens on equity and what this means for all students, and as educators, we make every opportunity, to help our students learn from their social interactions. We always work to help students look at a situation from the perspective of another, and know that appropriate social interactions must be fostered. When adults work collaboratively to mould our children, our greater community benefits. Thank you for partnering with us in this endeavor.
We thank you for all that you are doing in support of our students.
Be Well,
Jaime Maccarone
Welcoming Students Back
At the beginning of the year, money was donated by families to their respective classrooms to fund classroom parties. Since we are not able to have an end of the year party for classrooms, we will be collecting all leftover money, which was intended to be used for classroom parties, and use it to fund a celebration of our return to school.
