Principal's Note
We are excited to have parents, family members, and friends come to see the 2019 Art Show on Monday, April 8. Your children have been working hard, and all of their talent will impress you! Come and look at all the "sweet treat" artwork, find your way through the scavenger hunt, and meet the Candyland characters in the halls of Prairie View.
The PTO is also doing a raffle basket to raise funds for PVES projects. Stop in the library at the Art Show to buy tickets and put a ticket in to win one of the amazing baskets that classroom families put together. Thank you to all the families that donated! To see a preview of the raffle baskets, visit our PVES PTO page on Facebook.
Finally, stop buy the winning classes' jingle table for their bake sale. They have voted to donate funds to TeamEmma to support a CES teacher's family.

Classroom List Planning
Each spring, in preparation for the following school year, the Prairie View staff begins the process of preparing class lists. In doing so, we will carefully consider a variety of important factors based on the learning needs of your child. These factors include the learning environment that will contribute most to your child’s academic, emotional, and social growth. Careful consideration will be given to the make-up of the classroom as a whole in order to create a culture conducive to learning.
If you have thoughts regarding your child’s strengths, needs, or personality that you would like us to consider in building next year’s lists, Please take time to complete a Classroom Environment Request Form which can be found on the Mukwonago Area School District website under Parents/Students tab in the forms folder for School Specific Forms (http://www.masd.k12.wi.us/parents-students/masd-forms.cfm).
Please note that parent input is just one aspect of determining student placement. This form must be received in the Prairie View office on or before Friday, April 26, 2019 in order to be taken into consideration. Thank you!
Specials Report - Music classes - Mr. Hackbarth
Our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students did a fantastic job on their concert at the beginning of March!
Our 4th grade students have now started the recorder unit. Recorders should be stowed in backpacks if they are taken out to practice. Meanwhile, several grade levels will be starting units on the music of other cultures. Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade will be learning about Native American music, Bolivian music, Maori music, and Japanese music respectively. Our 5th graders are currently improving their rhythmic abilities through games and songs with syncopation such as Four White Horses and Bump Up Tomato, while our 6th grade classes are finishing up the Foley project they started a few weeks ago. They have used computer programs such as Soundtrap and WeVideo to create their Foley sounds and edit them into the clip we are working with. The final products will be amazing!
Thank you for all of your support of our program!
4th Grade
In science, our fourth graders are learning the effects of water erosion and how it changes the land.
