Mustang Messenger
Vol.1: Week 12 December 8, 2017
S'more Thinking = S'more Learning......at Grandview!
Honor the Past, Nurture the Present, Prepare for the Future!
The Holiday Shop was well attended this week! It was an exciting time for our students to shop for those they love. It looks like the colder weather is here to stay. It surely makes for a beautiful time of year. We have a very fun filled next two weeks. We are working hard to make sure our students stay focused and work hard during this exciting time of the year! We look forward to creating some fun Grandview memories these next weeks.
In Partnership,
Michelle Barsh and staff

GRANDVIEW HIGHLIGHTS!
Each month, we meet as a school community and learn a new character trait.
December focus = GRATITUDE.
Ask you child!
Mustang of the Week/Mustang of the Month
Teachers are choosing a student each week to honor!! Students are chosen based on teacher recommendation: student progress, effort, improvement, character, grit, citizenship, and more.
Principal's Breakfast
Mustangs of the Week are invited to the Mustang of the Month Principal's Breakfast!
Our first one honored 30 students!
Horseshoe Heroes
Students are working on living the character trait of the month. When students live their trait, teachers are catching them being a 'Horseshoe Hero' and are rewarding with a sticker on their individual horseshoe. When the students fill their horseshoe with the lucky number of 13 stickers, they are honored as a 'Horseshoe Hero' at the next Mustang Assembly.
Schools of Choice Second Semester
Applications will be available in the Superintendent’s office beginning January 8, 2018 and completed applications MUST be submitted in person to the Superintendent’s office during the application period listed above. There is no cost for the program and accepted students will be allowed to attend Clarenceville School District until graduation if the student complies with all guidelines for schools of choice and district policies.
If, at the close of the application window, there are more applications than slots available, a lottery for placement will take place on or about January 23, 2018.
Questions about schools of choice may be directed to the superintendent’s office at 248-919-0250.

Gratitude: The quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
This month at Grandview the theme is gratitude. For the next few weeks FOG will be sharing Grandview’s gratitude. Please send your statements of gratitude to Stacey Wittscheck so they can be included in future additions of the Mustang Messenger. You can email (StaceyAnnUSA@yahoo.com), text (586-222-3641) or send a handwritten note. If you want your statement of gratitude to remain anonymous, please let Stacey know. We are looking forward to sharing Grandview’s Gratitude!

Shoparoo
Way to go Grandview! We have surpassed the 40,000 Roo Points mark! Keep shopping & scanning so we can reach the next milestone goal of 50,000 Roo Points ($100)!
Grab your phone, download the FREE app, scan your receipts & watch the Roo Points add up! Remember, every receipt counts towards Roo Points or contest entries. Don’t forget to ask family & friends to Shoparoo too! You do not need a child at Grandview to participate. Grama, Grandpa, Aunts & Uncles can Shoparoo to benefit Grandview! If you have any questions, please contact Stacey Wittscheck, (586) 222-3641.
