2nd Annual Snowman Challenge!
For the second time in a row we held a Snowman Book Character contest in the library. Students were asked to build, draw, create their favorite book character in the shape of a snowman to enter the contest. The contest ended on Tuesday, January 14th and the library is filled with amazing snowmen! If you have not been by recently, please come take a look. We will announce the winners on Tuesday, January 24th and will select 2 winners per grade.

2017 Newbery and Caldecott Awards Announced!
On Monday, January 23rd the Newbery and Caldecott awards for 2017 were announced. The Newbery Award is given to the book voted the most significant contribution to children's literature during the previous year (2016). The Caldecott is given to the most distinguished picture book of the previous year. Below are the Medal Winners and the Honors books for each award:

Technology Tips!
Wizer
Wizer is a neat tool for creating a variety of interactive assignments including writing assignments, multiple choice quizzes, and labeling assignments. You can distribute your Wizer activities to your students through Google Classroom or through the use of a link and pin system.
