CASA Dance Class Goes to Alvin Ailey
Last Friday, students from the CASA Advanced Dance class went to see the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performance at the Detroit Opera House. The company performed three dances, concluding with the famous "Revelations" piece. Students found the evening so inspirational, they are excited to use some of the ideas and concepts they learned in their own choreography.
Studying Human Development In AP Psychology with Sock Babies
The sock babies project was part of the Developmental Psychology Unit. Students were learning about the theories in Developmental Psychology by making sock babies and filling out a "Baby Book", which was essentially a note taker for the unit. Students were required to bring the sock baby to class every day for one week and each day we would fill out a different section of notes in the baby book. Students filled out a birth certificate and photo album as well. Students really loved this assignment.

Spring Break Information
This Friday, March 24, is a full, regular school day. The OWL Day originally scheduled for Friday has been postponed. Spring Break is from March 27-31. Classes will resume on Monday, April 3rd. We hope everyone has a fun, relaxing vacation!
Instructional days, Attendance and Honor Cords
We recently counted, and as of today, March 22, there are only 38 instructional days left in the CASA school year, and only 21 instructional days before AP tests begin. Please help your students understand the importance of regular attendance in these last weeks of school. CASA awards Honor Cords to Seniors who fulfill the following three criteria: Academic Achievement, Exemplary Behavior and Excellent Attendance. We would have to have a senior miss out on wearing a CASA Honor Cord to graduation because they had too many absences. Please see the Honor Cord Criteria below.
