The data analysis website, Niche, has ranked Pella Community Schools as one of the 2020 top school districts in Iowa.
The rankings are based on analysis of reviews from students and parents, using data from the U.S. Department of Education. It also includes state test scores, college preparedness, graduation rates and standardized testing scores.

Congratulations to Middle School Language Arts Teacher Joan Nikkel!
Joan Nikkel is recognized by the Governor’s office and the Department of Education as a finalist in the 2020 Iowa Department of Education’s Teacher of the Year award.
Joan will be honored along with this year’s award-recipient and three other finalists during the Outstanding Teachers Recognition Luncheon. Governor Kim Reynolds and Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg will join Iowa Department of Education Director Ryan Wise in hosting the luncheon.
We are honored to have Joan sharing her gifts and her heart with students and staff at Pella Community Schools. Congratulations Joan!
Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress
The ISASP is given annually to all students in grades 3-11.
This test looks at the growth of each student as well as the overall school system in areas of reading, math, and writing. Science proficiency is tested in grades 5, 8, and 10. Practice tests will begin in March.

The Iowa Department of Education has published an online report card based on the 2019 ISASP results. The Iowa School Performance Profiles include scores and ratings based on a set of accountability measures:

- Conditions for Learning
- Graduation Rate (High School)
