Holly Elementary Happenings
Go Bronchos
February 12, 2021
Principal's Corner
Good Afternoon Holly Elementary Families,
Happy Friday! We have wrapped up our second full week of in-person learning, and every week just keeps getting better. Our students are working on a board that highlights 100 reasons why they love school, look for our facebook post to see all the reasons. Students this week have been working very hard taking their I-Ready diagnostic and doing their best. We couldn’t be happier to have our students back and that we are able to do this safely. We appreciate your continued support with the new protocols, along with your patience and kindness.
Valentine’s Day will be here very soon, with the Covid 19 protocols we have a few changes. Valentine’s parties will look similar to our Halloween celebrations this year. Classrooms will have pre-packaged treats & enjoy activities throughout the day with their cohorts. Classrooms will integrate Valentine's Day activities into their content areas throughout the day. Individual cohorts will also find creative ways to wish each other Happy Valentine's Day without distributing Valentine's Day cards between households. Thanks so much for your support as we continue to create a safe and healthy environment for all our students and staff.
The Broncho School-Parent Compact that is attached to this message is an initiative that encourages elementary school students and families to work with staff to help students learn and meet Michigan’s rigorous academic standards. By working together, we help all Bronchos achieve and succeed.
Yearbook has announced our cover contest winner…. Ailia McDonald from Mrs. Chamber’s 3rd grade classroom. Her design will be the cover of our 2020-21 yearbook. She will also be receiving a free yearbook for her design being selected. Thanks so much for all that participated, all those submitted a design will be also featured throughout the yearbook. You will also find the yearbook order form attached to this message.
As the winter weather is upon us, we want to go out as much as possible as long as the temperatures permit us. So with that please make sure you send your student with boots, snow pants, hat, coat, and gloves. If you are in need of anything of any winter items please contact our front office.

ATTENDANCE REPORTING
Attendance is very important, now that all students will be either doing remote learning or virtual all students needs to be connecting, engaging and completing assignments daily. We still have to report attendance as if your child was in person. If you are not responding to our calls or inquiries we may have to take further steps to ensure the students are still attending school.
If your student will be absent, even virtually, we need to know. Please call the office, 248-328-3614 to report your absence. All Holly Elementary students, regardless if they are taught by a teacher from a different building, will have attendance recorded at Holly Elementary.
