Penny Road Elementary Teacher of the Year Semi-Finalists
"It Takes big Hearts to Teach Little Minds"
General Tidbits
As we enter into the 2nd Quarter I would like for everyone to remember that adjustments, understanding, and accommodations are still needed and will be required for our ECS students. We are legally bound to provide them with instruction that is in the Least Restrictive Environment. This, of course, means that our ECS students will participate in General Education settings.
Recess Duty-
Grade Level Teams are still allowed to reduce duty coverage during recess. For example, if you have a team of 4 teachers, 1 teacher can stay inside for an extra planning period and duty is covered by the other 3 teachers. Second grade, you would need to have coverage of 4 and release 1 teacher for extra planning.
Instructional Assistants -
As a reminder, Instructional Assistants are required to attend staff meetings. An email will be sent if IA's are NOT needed to attend.
Campus Visitors-
We are expected to have guests on campus for our Veteran's Day Celebration. Make sure that your classrooms and hallways are neat and tidy.
Duct Tape Date-
November 26th is Duct Tape Mrs. Hoke. Details for that very special day will be sent later this month.
Grade Level Planning Days -
Contact Mrs. Hoke and Ms. Valvano if your Grade Level would like to have a planning day. Only one day is being allocated for the year, so please plan wisely.
Criteria for Planning Day:
- Secure a substitute or put in Aesop. You MUST have to have a sub. Coverage will not be provided
- Planning must occur on campus
- An agenda is required and submitted to Mrs. Hoke prior to planning
- Two half-days or one full day of planning allowed
- Mr. Crumpler will assist with planning
Only Grade Level Chairs need to request a planning day for the team. Thank you~
