6TH GRADE CHEETAHS 2015-2016
TUESDAY, MAY 17, 2016
Students will use their proportional reasoning skills to solve problems this week. We will scale down a soda can and a basketball to see what each would feel like if we had hands as big as Michael Jordan’s. We will also investigate a crime scene and create a wanted poster for a humongous giant – but first we must use proportions to determine his height!
Upcoming Due Dates
Problem Solving Set 16 due Friday 5/20
All Problem Solving Redos due Wednesday 5/25
This week in Science, we will begin our ecosystems project. Students will choose a specific ecosystem that interests them and research all about it and present it in a creative form using technology. We will also be discussing how to diagram the levels of organization within each ecosystem.
Science End of Course Exam (EOC) on Tuesday 5/24
In Language Arts, students will be revisiting, revising, and reflecting over the year. They will be producing writing samples that reflect how they have changed over time. We will also be starting our literature circles.
In Social Studies, students will be finishing our study on Africa and moving onto Australia.
